Today’s View From the Bull Pen
St Patty's Day
To celebrate the return of Patrick Roy, I thought I'd post my three favorite and most requested Roy cartoons from my days at the Rocky Mountain News. I'm excited he's back and I know you guys are too. So here's to St Patty. I'll raise a pint o' Guinness to that!
Have a great a safe memorial day weekend! As always, your readership and your comments help to make the world go round, so please continue to add them. I will try to do a better job of responding.
There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.

Football:The end is near!

With the “so-called” National Championship game now over and the NFL playoffs edging closer to a conclusion, I always feel a sense of panic this time of year.
And the fact that one of my favorite teams (the Saints) is out of the mix it even makes even more pronounced. I’m not an NBA fan. Haven’t been since the days of Magic vs. Bird and really since the era of Maravich. Besides I’m really tired of the Melo trade talk here in Denver. it seems a long way off until the Rockies open spring training. They trained in Tucson until this coming spring and I made many journeys to that lovely city during that time. It pains me to know the people of Tucson are going through what we experienced at Columbine.
I am back on board with the NHL, after giving it a rest after the ugly Bertuzzi cheap shot years back so there’s that. But, still, the end of the football season is always tough on a lot of us. If you feel like I do please, oh, please feel free to comment. -
Ducks Under Glass

Considering both teams had to wait 40 days and 40 nights to play the game making this look more like a season opener than a National title game, the IDW (It Doesn’t Work) Championship game had an exciting finish. The first 3.75 quarters, not so much. I’m not sure I feel too hot about the call that got Auburn in position to win the game but, hey, that’s the way the replay bounces.
A couple of quick opinions. If you want the grass to be as slick as it was just move indoors and play it on an ice skating rink, and Cam Newton is the next JaMarcus Russell. Or Vince Young. Take your pick.
