Broncos take Charge: 6-0

therealthing

Wrong.

Let’s see. I’ve apologized for being so wrong about this Broncos season. I’ve crawled on my belly to ask for forgiveness from Broncos nation. And I’ve vowed to never wear vertically striped socks. That about covers it. Simply put, I was waaaayy off base. The Broncos now sit at 6-0 and own a huge lead in the AFC West race. Who’s da thunk it? Suffice to say, not me. Not hundreds of pro football experts. Maybe even not you. It doesn’t matter now. Let’s just pull up the Lazy-boy and enjoy the ride.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

well its time to get on the bandwagon. No doubt the wheels could fall off but just 2 more wins and they have matched last year. with 2 games against the chiefs still in the offing, put those in the bag under the W column. they will beat the Raiders, again, and San Diego again for ten and the playoffs.

Unless the bronco’s get bitten by the injury bug, and they could, it will be an amazing year for a first year coach. shannahan had the players and now with the defense the bronco’s have become the BRONCO’S.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Today is the day that I am guzzling the Orange Kool-Aid!! I have been sipping for the last couple of weeks just to see if we are really contneders for any kind of playoff spot, or to see if we would be “rebuilding” for next year. I honestly believe that we have a chance to go deep in the playoffs. The next couple of games are gonna be a little rough, the Ravens are beatable and the Steelers are getting old on both sides of the ball but still dangerous.

I was watching the sidelines yesterday from both teams really close, I saw hate, anger and, “its all about me” attitude from San Diego’s bench. When the Broncos were down Brian Dawkins was standing and getting everyone ready to go back on the field, coaching players and making everyone accountable so that they could adjust for the next series on defense. I watched the offensive line being in sync with the running backs and wide recievers while they were getting breathers on the bench. In short everyone on this team has chemistry, heart and passion. But most of all respect for one another. This is what a team looks like folks.

    Have a great day everyone!!

  3. Well, if they win 3 more games they matched my prediction this year (9-7). I know that atleast 95% of Bronco fans need to appologise to Josh MickieD and the Bronco organization.

I don’t even know what to say…..I mean that game last night was a MUST WIN for the Chargers. It was essentially another game for Denver but a MUST WIN for the other guys. If Denver lost (but lost close) I would have felt good. BUT A WIN!? You gotta be kidding me…..

I’m speechless. More then anyone I need to appologise to Kyle Orton. If he keeps playing this way…..he’s easily in the MVP talk. And I was wanting him benched for Chris Simms. Orton is winning games just as much as this defense (yeah I said it)

    Amazing…..

  4. WOW! I would like to sincerely apologize to Josh McDaniels and the Broncos organization. I was WAAAAAY off-base with my predictions. Josh McDaniels has GOT to be the Coach of the Year!

I *LOVE* watching the Broncos win and beating the Chargers – sacking Phillip Rivers a career high 5 times, WOW!!! AMAZING!!!!

    Go BRONCOS!!!

  5. NICE work Drew! (I’m still waiting to see you poke fun at the sports-writers for their pre-season predictions of “Denver’s doom!) 😉

Glad to see you’re back “on board”, I’ll make a bit of room for you on the bandwagon!

I’m an optimist and even I thought Denver would go 9-7 this year, largely because of the “silence” coming from the veteran players like Stokely and Bailey.

So 6-0 is an AWESOME start!

GO YOU MIGHTY 6-0 DENVER BRONCOS!!!!

  6. Hi Drew,

    Great art as always.

I love beating our current AFC West rivals. I love to hate the Raiders, but beating them is lacking in what I felt last night.

Knowing how much Phillip “Cry me a” Rivers (apologies for the Bermanism) talks trash and has destroyed us before, this victory feels very sweet, indeed.

I like the bye week here. With McDaniels’ savvy for getting our team ready for games in one week, you know Baltimore will be dreading the game after we’ve had two weeks of preparation.

Don’t worry about selling the team short early on. There was no precedence that would lead anyone to think we would be where we are.

It sure helps that the Eagles(3-2) are the only team with a winning record that the Chiefs, Chargers or Raiders have defeated. Good year to be in the AFC West.

    Rest up Broncoland!

  7. I can’t remember when the Bronc’s had such a good defense. I go back to Red Miller and the Orange Crush. I knew they would win more than the sports writers said they would. Size and team speed is very good. I see 12 and 4.

  8. Drew,

At the beginning of the season you said Broncos might win four, while I disagreed with you then, I was still only predicting between six and eight.

What I mean to say is that I highly doubt anyone one predicted how well they would be doing at this point, I we shouldn’t hold it against anyone.

I also would like to apologize to Josh McDaniels for doubting his decisions, he seems to me to be an excellent coach who rightly so, doesn’t let anyone challenge his leadership. I was however glad to see Cutler go and had faith in Kyle Orton’s abilities.

The saying goes “Any given Sunday” while I don’t believe that saying, I do believe that the Broncos have the ability to beat any team in the NFL and I’m looking forward to the rest of this season.

    GO BRONCOS!!!

  9. I was wrong I thought 3 and 13 was going to be a miracle!!! Hopefully this is a very fun run!!!!!

  10. I was thinking 8 and 8 and thought that would be really good now? The coach is the Man , I was a Shanny fan but thought it was time to go.Mc D is a different kind of coach that is able to shift on the fly and that is what Shanny never could do once someone had his number they could not adjust and ended up losing. Go Bronco’s

  11. Didn’t really know what to think at the beginning of the season. I figured McD was talented and some kind of special because of his quick rise through the ranks and record of success with the Pats. Questioned the dumping of Cutler who in retrospect was but an arogant cry-baby with a rocket arm. But now praise his premature wisdom in choosing Orton who is so happy to be where he is, and so humble he can barely stand to look into a camera. Just think… year 1 of a new Bronco era… The team is young for the most part, the coach is young. I like the horse i’m riding (pun intended) and I hope that I can ride it for a long, long time!

  12. I was thinking 4-12 so Drew you are not the only Broncos fan that is eating their words. now somebody please pass the salt.
