Umpires in need of Replay

Umpires are human (most of them anyway) and so they are going to make some mistakes. But this years post season has been a particularly bad one the men in blue. And so the whole controversy about instant replay heats up. Not sure what will come of it but when there are as many blown calls as there have been during these playoffs there has to be some kind of answer for it all.

On another note: Viva Chile! Seeing those miners emerge from darkness into light is one of the best stories of our lifetimes. So good to finally see a story with a happy ending for a change!

  1. Good morning from Omaha,

the Chile’ story is really a great story. When people work together its amazing what can happen when people work together. No regard for political affiliation or who gets the credit for success or failure just rolling up the sleeves and getting busy.

Team sports can be that way, family life can work that way also. If everyone does a little the task gets done faster and the stress gets removed.

I have not seen any MLB postseason play. I have not heard of any controversial plays or missed calls but hey,I don’t have much of a life anymore.

We are waiting on the birth of our first grandchild. He will probably be born about 3 on saturday, during the Husker-Texas game. Timing is everything you know.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Definitely need replay in MLB.

If anything, we could have had one more perfect game this season for the record books.

  3. You forgot the note in the ump’s back pocket that says (pick one)….

    a) make sure the Yankees win.

    b) make sure the Giants and Rangers get in, and the Yankees stay out.

    c) widen the strike zone.

  4. Merry Meet. I really think so too=P I have been surfing around the internet for some time today, and its kinda hard to find something good to read on blogs:P Maybe its because there are too much of them around =) But this site actually keeps catching my attention. Great posts, and cool design ^__^. Ill be sure to give it more time from now on =)

  5. With all the various camera angles that are provided to replay, there is one view that is missing and is greatly needed and that is the view of the official that made the call. This is one perspective that never shown, so we have really no way of knowing if the official actually blew the call. It is real easy to second guess a call when using an angle, like a sky cam with frame by frame motion. Try making the call live, it will give you a whole new perspective.
