1. Dear Mr. Litton,

   Hawkins firing made me think of two old Drew Litton cartoons. The first was of a comedian saying, “Did you hear the one about the Buffalo’s being a 4 1/2 point favorite?”

   The 2nd was of a Nebraska Cornhusker and Oklahoma Sooner mascot opening the door of their home to see an angry Ralphie and they say,” The doormat has come to life.”

   In both cases those cartoons showed the optimism of C.U. football. Things that can happen again now that Dan Hawkins has been punted.

2. Good Morning from Omaha,

   Money makes the world go ’round.

   that includes the world of football. They need to find a young up and comer that can work

   their way to this level of competition. Those kind of coaches are out there and are salivating

   for the chance to prove themselves. Bohn should not be in a hurry to select the next coach.

   take the time it takes to do it right. The program out there is a hard sell with the lack of money,

   the benefits of living in CO does not put a lot of food on the table but the challenge of

   building something with your own sweat and thought is out there for the next coach.

   When NE. found Bob Devaney ever so long ago- he was an assistant I think at WYO but had spent time

   as an assistant at MICH ST. The next successful CU coach is out there so don’t just settle for bringing back

   a former coach. The program has bottomed out and nothing but looking up ahead.

   Offers of a challenge and a reward for success will help CU recruit their next coach. Good luck to CU.

3. I agree with Gene, no recycling! There is plenty of talent and lots of fresh new ideas out there! I know I offered up Pete yesterday, but that was sarcasm. Maybe Josh would want to take his fresh new ideas to the college level.

   You REALLY need to do a collection of your CU cartoons. It would be a guaranteed best-seller. (There’s still time before Christmas )
