Monday Matchup Madness Saints vs. Falcons

We weren’t sure this would get posted on ESPN.com tonight. Blizzards have made e-mail communication in Bristol almost impossible. But Thanks to ESPN’s Michael Knisley and Thomas Neumann for being persiitent. Thanks to Rich Moyer and the one and only Mike Kaminski for the great team that made these happen every week. This is the last episode for now. We are hoping for a chance to do one for the Super Bowl, so stay tooned.

  1. Dear Mr. Litton,

Yes, I agree with you. Drew Brees IS a superman but that feeling goes beyond what he does with a football. What he has meant to this city especially after the Katrina disaster Their winning the Super Bowl last season was the feel good story of my lifetime. Even more so than the Amazing Mets of ’69.

(Incoming series of corny remarks-be warned!) When Drew Brees came into the league and started making the Saints winners I was wondering if he’d be a “Flash” in the pan. However he has continued to play like a “Beast”. He makes other teams feel (deliberate lisp here) “Thor”. The guy has the ability to turn other team’s coaches into “Riddler’s”. Drew Brees is so good it’s almost enough to make you wonder if he’s a “Cyborg”. No matter what though Brees is definaly a “Dazzler” (yeah that was a female superhero but for the sake of continuing the gag I went with it).

Yeah, I bit of a comic book freak. Loved the X-Men in particular even having crushes on Storm, later on Jubilee and even later on Shadow Cat (Kitty Pride).

I hope your Christmas was happy and just in case I forget to say it later this week HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

nice job louis. Finally a good game on a monday night and my wife invited the neighbors over for a “lets eat leftovers” party. such is the luck.

How about that T-bow!!! and the Chiefs!!!!!thank you bengals. why don’t the bronco’s finish the season by beating the chargers- giving the fans a reason to believe in next year!!! that would really make me smile= that and the chiefs winning A playoff game.

Loved the cartoon. there were a lot of stats in this one that in my own myopic view I didn’t know. the tunnel vision on the AFC west has not allowed me to follow much other than the Vick wants a dog, farve is hurt, again, and rex ryan and his wife have a foot fetish- at least its his wife and not some team office secretary!

what a weird year it has been in the NFL!

STrive for excellence, nothing but your best!

  3. Dear Mr. Litton,

After reading the letter from Joe in Omaha I feel the need to say something. So far Tebow has taken a lot of heat for not being John Elway. Well sometimes I think people forget just how harrowing his first few seasons were. Especially his rookie season.

I still remember the game vs San Diego where they were beating him up like a Pinata. He got so harried and harrassed that at one point he actually lined up under the guard instead of the center. Of course being under Dan Reeve and his “Rockette” offense (run, two, three KICK!) didn’t help either.

People talk about the greatness of John Elway and he was indeed great but people mostly think about what I call the “broken in” model instead of the “just out of the showroom model” which is how I define Tebow at this point.

    All the best

    Louis

  4. GMFO-

I have always believed in T-Bow!!! He may not be flashy but he has that winning attitude that has been lacking in the Bronco’s as of late. sometimes you may misunderstand what I am saying but 9 out of 10 times I am like that elephant of Dr. Suess fame- “I meant what I said, and I said what I meant- an elephant is faithful 100%!!!”

The bronco’s need to get some of the big uglies up front on both sides of the ball to protect him a little better and to put some heat on the other team.

There is a lot of good in T-bow but they need some more pieces to make the team.

sorry to upset you Louis. Opinions are like noses- everyone has one.

    Gene

  5. Louis, get to know your “superheros” brees came into the league with San Diego and played a number of years there.
