It just keeps going and going

It just seems to go on and on and on. The playoffs just seem to never end. Which is great, I suppose, if you really happen to be a big fan of the NBA. The way they drag the thing out is really excruciating really. I mean, it’s enough to make you wish for Arena League football again! Well, almost.

  1. Wait a minute… the NBA playoffs are still going?!?!?!?!?

(yeah, I admit, I don’t watch sports much when it isn’t football season, but heck… aren’t we getting close to the All Star Break???)

    Oy gevalt….

  2. Dear Drew,

No L.A., No Boston (of course still no Denver-dang it) Now if Chicago would only figure out a way to knock out Miami (or have Dallas do it in the finals) I would be a 100% happy camper even though most of the time the NBA playoffs make me feel like a hamster running on the wheel going nowhere fast.

    All the best,

  3. Good Morning from Omaha,

My beautiful sister, who lives in Dallas, tried to infect us all with “MAVlaria” over last weekend. She has the fever and is vehemently for her team the Mavs. We all have our vices.

I will attempt to move heaven and earth to catch a football game on a sunday afternoon. and Saturdays are full of football as well, to the point where my wife tries to enforce a one game a day rule- one game on saturday (choose wisely) and one game on Sunday.

Maybe I am not the sports fan I think I am. I catch some of the highlights on ESPN and can read the papers on the web. I won’t go down the HDTV experience road, again today,

It would be fun to live in a city that had some teams involved in the playoffs. Chicago, Dallas, OKC, Miami. Last year when the Chiefs made the playoffs Kansas City was a little crazy and that makes it fun. maybe we are all just jealous that our teams are out of the race, or not.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  4. Professional basketball is just not my cup of tea. Maybe because the athletes involved seem spoiled and of the atitude that the world should be glad they exist. Ok, maybe it’s really because the game moves too fast for me and there are all those big people in a small area….But this year there seem to be a lot of close games and mildly interesting ones for a bit. Don’t they play a whole season to eliminate 4 teams? And hockey seems to have gone the same route, lets not forget that they are still playing as well. Albeit much more interesting. Love Meaghan’s comment!

  5. Oh, love the cartoon, Drew, love starting my day with a laugh! As always, it’s the little things, the expressions on the faces, the pitcher on the desk, the leg irons, the irony……

  6. 30 teams, 16 of which make the playoffs. The NFL has close to the same thing, but at least they are single-game elimination, like the March Madness tournament. The NBA (and NHL) wouldn’t bore us so badly if they went back to “best of three” for the first round, then “best of five” for the middle rounds.

Continuing the thread of the past two days; I see that the NBA players are accusing the NBA owners of “wanting a lockout,” according to CNNSI.com. Jeez; can’t somebody get these guys in one room and start slapping heads?

  7. Drew–

Geez, these professional playoffs are almost as tedious as election season. But with much less trash-talking…

Loved the comments from Sherri & Meaghan!

  8. I’m a fan of the NBA, love the playoff’s, wish they were twice as long, and hate it when Drew does these yearly cartoons (often several times a year), but I think this is one of his better ones.
