Lin-spiration!

Jeremy Lin, the unsuspecting bench warmer turned sudden superstar for the New York Knicks has captured the country’s imagination in much the same way that the Broncos Tim Tebow did. I think it speaks more to the collective need tight now for Americans to find some kind of inspiration to get through these troubled times. People love Underdogs. We love to root for the guy (or the teams) that no one thinks can make it. Jeremy Lin is all of that and more.

So I did this cartoon and plugged in one of my favorite quotes by Walt Disney. If you can dream it you can do it! And I know our pal Gene Anderson is doing just that! Gene is making tremendous strides in his rehab from a recent stroke. We’re all pulling for ya, Gene. Course we know you ain’t no Underdog! You’re the lead dog for the whole sled. We all just want to hitch a ride when ya get back to form!

  1. GMFO-

and they beat the lakers this weekend! Walt had the right idea and is proof positive that dreaming can lead to achieving.

I’ll have a story about an ice cream dream maybe the next time. In the meantime hope that Lin gets a chance to continue to play as Carmello and Studomire are back in the lineup soon. It would be a shame to watch that diamond in the rough they found in NY go to waste.

Strive foe excellence, nothing but your best!

  2. How can you compare JLin to Tebow? Tebow came from a big-time football college and he has been in the limelight for how many years? He didn’t sneak anywhere.

JLin went to Harvard, went undrafted, got cut by 2 teams, played in the D-league and scraped his way into the line-up in the Mecca of basketball. Comparing the 2 is an insult to JLin.
