Broncos Idea of Pass Coverage

It’s apparent now that this edition of the Denver Broncos is a work in progress. The defense has holes in the secondary, the wide receivers can’t catch a cold, and Peyton Manning is still trying to teach everyone how to run the no huddle offense without cliff notes. It isn’t pretty. That said…the first one who mentions Tebow gets splashed in the Fall festival dunk tank. It’s a long season, the Texans are tough and the schedule gets no easier. The good news is it’s Raiders week!

  1. good morning from Omaha,

its not just the bronco’s that are having trouble with pass defense. Most teams defenses have been n hamstrung by the NFL’s edict for more scoring. I thought the term “trailing coverage” was a joke but that seems to be how most teams cover the pass.

The texans are tough- but they put pressure on Manning that forced him to hurry his passes, throw off target or run for his life.

the secret,if it is such a thing,is to get pressure on the qb. The front 7 have got to toss caution to the wind and get after it.Too many defensive schemes are being used by players that are not capable of performing the role they are assigned.

That is true, not only of the bronco’s but the chiefs as well. If a quarterback gets over 3 seconds to look down field and find his target he WILL pick you apart.

gotta have that fearsome rush up front to protect your safeties and corners and allow them to do their jobs.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. This is so funny! I hate to see them loose, and I really wish the NFL would just give the refs what they are asking for, but still enjoying the season, all three weeks of it. The refs are definitely getting worse, and i don’t want it to come down to my shutting off my television. Commish don’t force me to that!

  3. Drew & all–

This cartoon gets funnier each time I look at it.

The game itself was heavy in the “Ugly” category. I totally agree with Sherri. The NFL should get off their butts and end the referee lockout.

  4. The replacement refs will remain until the NFL starts losing money and to do that the viewers need to turn the channel, better still turn off the TV and spend the time getting reacquainted with family and friends, but that will not happen. People will actually tune in just to see this impending “train wreck”. Maybe if a star player is seriously injured because the refs were unable to control the action, the NFL might reconsider their position. My money is on Tebow becoming an NFL passer before the NFL wakes ups.

Another option that might help, is to send Goodell a few notes expressing the fans disappointment.
