Here is a fair warning for every husband and guy in a relationship…DON’T TRY THIS at HOME!

A few random notes:

  • Great to see Gene back with us! He’s making huge progress in his recovery. Gene, you inspire us all!
  • I had the great fortune of spending some time talking on the phone with my friend, Peg DeLeo, one of our most loyal readers, who was in town from her home in Minnesota. Hope to meet for coffee or lunch next time she is in town. She’s such a great lady.
  • I’m busy doing some writing on a few new projects I’m trying to get off the ground. Both, very different than the work I do here. I hope I can announce something soon, but I’m trying not to rush the process.
  • My posting schedule is a bit off, I know. February is like that, topics, at least good meaty ones, aren’t as easy to come by. That, and I go through brain freeze this time of year. One of the many reasons I’m considering relocating in the next 3 to 6 months. If nothing else, I need a good vacation, someplace warm where I can learn to sail

And if we ever had any doubts about whether life is fair or not, just ask the three guys in the goat pen. Williams, Welker and Cundiff. Three guys who have gotten a bad wrap for their “mistakes” in post season play. Everybody is human. Time to forgive and forget. Things happen. That’s just the way it works.

Jeremy Lin, the unsuspecting bench warmer turned sudden superstar for the New York Knicks has captured the country’s imagination in much the same way that the Broncos Tim Tebow did. I think it speaks more to the collective need tight now for Americans to find some kind of inspiration to get through these troubled times. People love Underdogs. We love to root for the guy (or the teams) that no one thinks can make it. Jeremy Lin is all of that and more.
So I did this cartoon and plugged in one of my favorite quotes by Walt Disney. If you can dream it you can do it! And I know our pal Gene Anderson is doing just that! Gene is making tremendous strides in his rehab from a recent stroke. We’re all pulling for ya, Gene. Course we know you ain’t no Underdog! You’re the lead dog for the whole sled. We all just want to hitch a ride when ya get back to form!

The first weekend without football was a rough one. Thankfully I stayed busy enough not to dwell on it too much.
Even picked up a copy of a Fantasy Baseball magazine to tide me through. How about you? Too soon to miss it?
