Lebron is gone, but Cleveland still has something left. Not really.

LeBron is gone and Cleveland is left with, well, not much. But they still have their health. Right. Any time I can get the words “Funny Farm” in a cartoon it’s a good day.

Excited to hear the Ubaldo will start in the All-Star game. Very well deserved. It’s going to be a blast when the Rockies get back from the break. Hopefully the momentum they have gathered will carry over. The great thing is it gives me something to draw about until August when the whole state of Colorado begins the “Tebow Watch”. I was around for the “Elway Watch” when TV crews followed him during his first Broncos training camp to the barbershop to get a haircut. I’m hoping we’ve grown a bit more sophisticated since then.

The LeBron Let down

My cartoon for this weekends Chicago Tribune. And, now, I promise, I’ll leave LeBron alone for awhile. The scene they made in Miami when to welcome LeBron to the team made me physically ill. If that’s the level of hero worship we’ve come to then maybe it’s time to go watch some little league games.

Cleveland: We feel your pain.

Imagine if you will, John Elway leaving the Broncos to play for the Raiders in 1995. Imagine what that would have felt like as a Broncos fan and you can get a sense of what it’s like in Cleveland today after losing LeBron James to the Heat. Here’s my cartoon about it all over on ESPN.com. I feel for the folks in Cleveland. Yeah, even the Browns fans.

Lebronathon: Still waiting

While the world awaits the news on where LeBron James will play, the folks in Chicago mull over their strategy. Hope you are having a terrific July 4th holiday!

LeBron and More

Once again, greed rules. This one’s pretty self explanatory, so I’ll let it speak for itself. I’d love to hear your feedback on this whole free agency thing. It’s going to be crazy.

I don’t know how you feel but…

The NBA season drones on far too long. It’s the only sport for me that makes me feel like I’m working when I watch it. Other sports don’t do that. Even World Cup soccer which I’m actually enjoying, doesn’t make me as crabby as having to watch an average NBA game. Now, last night wasn’t your average NBA game. It was game 7 of the NBA finals. Both teams actually played defense which NEVER happens in the NBA. And if you exclude the time it looked more like a Rugby scrum it was actually entertaining. But, still. I’m soooo glad it’s over. How about you? Glad to see it go or want 7 more games?

Got a cartoon over on ESPN by 9 or 10 EST. I’ll let you know when it posts. Have a great weekend!

Coach Wooden: The Greatest of All-Time

John Wooden was the master. The greatest coach in the history of basketball and more importantly, the game of life. His influence was far reaching and he lived his life as a shining example of the faith he so passionately held dear. I’ll be doing some kind of Wooden cartoon this weekend and will post it when I do. Until then I strongly urge you to click on the picture below or this Wooden link and spend some time camping on his site and his take on how to live your life. I know you’ll agree with me when you’re done it’s time very well spent.

And here is the John Wooden pyramid of success. Incredible words of wisdom…

Lakers vs. Celtics

I grew up on the Lakers-Celtics era with Chamberlain vs. Russell. And then West vs Havlicek. And then, of course Bird vs. Magic. Forgive me if it just doesn’t feel the same. How about you? Are you into this upcoming series? Or are you more likely to turn on the NFL channel and dream of September? Or wish that Ubaldo could pitch every night?
