It’s almost game time. The hype is almost behind us and now it gets down the important stuff. Get the remotes ready. Batteries. Hot Wings. Cold beverages. Chips Salsa. And get ready the the Commercial Bowl!
I’ll be doing multiple cartoons again for the Super Bowl over at ESPN.com. I’m not quite sure of the format. I think the other cartoonist with ESPN, Kurt Snibbe, and I are supposed to each do a running commentary of some kind. I’ll let you know when I find out more later today (Friday). So check back over the weekend for details.

Here it is you Guys (and Gals, of course), the newest Sooper episode just in time for the National Sooper Sunday Holiday.
Feel free to send it to a few thousand of your closest friends and stop by ESPN.com to rate it and add comments here or there. a big thanks to my new Crew mate, Joe Corrao, who did the animation. YOu can see more of Joe’s incredible stuff at 4eyedanimation.com. the vocal work was done my Mike Kaminski. You gotta hear his demo reel at MikeKaminski.com
And I can’t say enough about Rich Moyer who carried the load of 16 straight weeks of 2 minute animations by himself. Some of Richs stuf can be seen at RichMoyer.com (Just an FYI. Not all of Rich’s work is “family friendly”)
I’ll be back Friday with another toon! In the meantime , enjoy!

If by chance we encountered an Alien Invasion on Super Bowl Media Day they would turn tail back to Planet Zeron and report “Sorry sir. There is no intelligent life on earth”. I’ve had the misfortune to attend several Super Bowl Media Days during my career with the Rocky. Media Day is a Great place for a cartoonist to be, but I can tell you beyond a doubt it is the stupidest day of the year. Stupid questions asked by stupid media types who never cover any other sporting event all year long. It’s like Barnum and Bailey, with a whole lotta clowns. it truly is an embarrassment to the human race.

Not everyone is thrilled with the Packers-Steelers Super Bowl match-up. It’s not the BIG market teams that the Networks want to have that push the ratings over the top.. It’s just the Cheeseheads and the Steel workers. I like to think of Green Bay and Pittsburgh as the heart of America. I’m always drawn towards those places in our country that embody a tremendous work ethic. It’s what makes America great. The Grit. The determination to fight for their way of life. It’s one of the reasons I dream of moving to Maine someday. The people of Maine are proud and do what it takes to survive and to maintain and preserve all that they love, all that they stand for. It’s a hard life. But they live it with gusto. So I say bring on the Packers and Steelers. I’m going to wear yellow. That way you’ll have no idea who I’m rooting for.
