Here’s another cartoon on the Historic Stanley Cup Victory for Boston. A remarkable win for a remarkable team. seems like all for Vancouver is full of Thugs. Nice way to showcase sportsmanship Canuts fans.

This drawing is a bit of a grand experiment for me. Last nights cartoon featuring the Ride of Paul Revere took me several hours to pencil, ink and colorize. This one, which I think I like better, about 45 minutes if that. It may be time for me to shift the paradigm on how I do sports cartoons. I think the immediacy of getting something up might need to supersede my desire for art that looks more polished. It might be time for me to rethink the whole way I approach the site and the cartoons I do here. Perhaps short and simple and quick is the way to go, basically jumping on every big sports story I can right after it occurs, getting something posted within an hour after it’s finished. It might mean doing several “quick” cartoons a day at times. Just thinking out loud . I sure would love to know what you think, as always.

A brief note on the Zazzle store: for the second time Zazzle has chosen to remove content from my store that they deem a conflict with trademarks of professional sports. I never had any such problem with the Rocky Mountain News nor Chicago Tribune or ESPN.com for that. In any case it means my ability to resell prints on Zazzle might need to be rethought as well.

Those who live by the cheap shot, die by the cheap shot. Nice to see the Cup go to Boston who at least plays hockey, as opposed to Vancouver who seem to believe the team with the most hits wins. The Canucks got what they deserved. Thuggery doesn’t cut it when skills are what brings home Championships. Congrats Boston fans. Well Deserved. I just added this print to Zazzle so that it will be available for purchase ASAP!

Disgusting. Horrific. Criminal.

Those are but a few words to describe the hit on Boston’s Nathan Horton during game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. It really is a violent crime. Someday, someone will get killed like this. In the NHL, or the NFL. And then, just maybe, the leagues will take these acts of violent crime seriously. But I kind of doubt it. Because, you know, ratings. And ratings=money. Even if they are crime ratings.

Please feel free to sound off on this one. I really want to here your take on things.

The Avs really need to pull over and ask for directions. Personally, I just wish they'd finish this debacle soon. It's been a miserable season.

It kind of makes me long for the good old days....

To say the Avalanche are headed downhill would be an understatement. They've lost 15 of their last 16 games with no end in site. We haven't seen a collapse like this since Charlie Sheen a week ago. It's ugly hockey, the Avs giving up goals the way Josh McDaniel's used to give up draft picks. Lots. And often. We are a week away from Tournament picks. Baseball is in it's early spring schedule, and nobody but Los Angeles and Boston care about the NBA. The NFL is still arguing amongst themselves and NASCAR, well...it's not the Daytona 500, OK. This is the one week of the year I refer to as the doldrums. The winds are calm and the sails are just laying there. So, let's just say this week could bring some pretty crazy cartoon ideas. Sounds like fun to me!
