Cutler’s Last Stand
Merchandise from last week’s Jay Cutler cartoon “Lasting Impression” is now available at the DrewLitton.com store. We have every thing from t-shirts, to prints to coffee mugs to, my personal favorite, the Jay Cutler yard sign. Believe me you’ll want one of those come September. We’ve also got Mt. Crushmore gear and John Elway Envy merchandise from the oldie but goodie cartoon featuring Elway coveting Joe Sakic’s Stanley Cup. Just click the store links on the sidebar.

Cutler to the Bears cartoon to come

I’ll add a Cutler to the Bears cartoon over the weekend sometime. Since it was caption contest day I wanted to give that it’s proper place on the site. So, hang on, it’s coming.
Also, I’ll be adding the Cutler is a Horses Patootie cartoon to the drewlitton.com store over the weekend so it should be available for you to buy a t-shirt or a coffee mug with the cartoon on it on Monday. It was super cool that the Chicago Sun Times picked up the cartoon to run in today’s paper. Thanks to Steve Foster for making that happen. Reed Eckhardt, the editor from the Wyoming Tribune Eagle in Cheyenne ran my Cutler sucking His Thumbcartoon yesterday on their front page. That was a pretty cool honor. Thanks Reed.

The Ken Caryl Artists Guild
I had the great pleasure of speaking to the Ken Caryl Artists Guild last night. My friend and fellow artist Kyle Bannister invited me to share some of my experiences about life after the Rocky. Kyle is an amazingly talented artist who concentrates primarily on Baseball. He draws some incredible stuff in pen and ink as well as pencil of players in action and players from the golden age of the Major Leagues. His website is under construction but I’ll share the link as soon as it goes live. I met so many fantastic people there and it was so cool to be among other creative artists. Thanks to everyone in the Guild for making it such a wonderful night.

Have a great weekend!
Drew

For those of you who are new to my new website www.DrewLitton.com. Welcome! For those of you who are already part of our community, Hello, and thanks for coming back. I’ve got a few updates and an birds-eye view of what we have planned in the coming months for the site.

* First, I’m doing a brand new Sports cartoon everyday Monday through Friday about the Broncos, Rockies, Avalanche, Nuggets, Buffs and Rams as well as the national sports scene.
* In the next few days we’ll be adding a Join the Drew Crew button. It will give you the chance to subscribe to our free New Monthly E-Zine with news, merchandise updates, and a monthly feature spotlighting members of the Drew Crew and what’s going on in your worlds. It will also include some insider sports info, in-the-studio updates, and some other cool stuff.
* The site will be a great community of Colorado sports fans, a place where it’s fun to gather and to share your comments on the cartoons and on the issues behind them.
* We’re planning some Podcasts and some in-the-studios how to videos.
* In the coming months we’ll add some New Animated cartoons about the Broncos, Rockies, Avalanche, Nuggets, Buffs and Rams!
* Also coming your way will be some Animated sports games to keep you busy at the office when your boss isn’t looking!
* The DrewLitton.com sports store will be growing with more fun T-shirts, coffee mugs, prints, mouse pads, clocks and greeting cards. And you can buy original cartoons as well.
* We’ve already started our Cartoon Caption Contest. It’s found every Friday with the winner receiving the original cartoon drawing with your caption and a free Fraternal Order of Pigskin t-shirt.
* Exclusive Desktop wallpaper schedules and screensavers that you can download and add to your computer.
* We’ll add a draw your own cartoon feature and take the best Drew Crew members cartoon submissions and spotlight them right here on the site.
* Fantasy Leagues! We’ll have our own leagues, just like last year, where you can join me to compete for prizes. We’ll be using several different sites to help host those.
* E-cards! I’m working now on a way to have e-cards that you can send to your friends.

These are just a few plans for the future. I hope you’ll join me on this new venture. Feel free to tell your friends. They can still get their daily fix of “win, lose & Drew” and a whole lot more.

And remember: Let’s have some fun out there!

Take care,
Drew

Attention all former Rocky subscribers.
I want to alert all of you to the latest incarnation of the Rocky. If you haven’t seen the announcement that came down yesterday about many of the former staff members from the Rocky Mountain News continuing on in an online form please go to this link called http://www.indenvertimes.com/. I encourage all of you to consider subscribing to this new venture. As you know the newspaper industry is facing difficult and challenging times. There must be a change in the business model for the existence of newspapers to survive. I know some will ask why pay for something you get for free online. Good valid question. The new direction of the Rocky will include free content, but much like ESPN online, there will be a lot more content available to you if you are a subscriber. The interesting thing about this new online news product is that it is making the greatest use of multiple platforms technologically. Most newspapers ( my guess 99.9% of them) have merely tried to apply their print version of a paper into an online format. The entire product, instead, needs to be built from the ground up, which is exactly what this new venture will do. It will be an online newspaper product like you have never seen. Overall Newspapers are vital to objective reporting and the preservation of the American democracy depends on news sources whose content you can trust. I do not, at this time, know if I will be a part of this new Rocky adventure. I have several options I am exploring to continue my career. In time, I hope to share what those may be. But until then, please join me as a subscriber to this daring bold new Newspaper product.

And now we interrupt the Josh vs. Jay brawl to bring you a little something called March Madness.
Just a little break from the meltdown at Dove Valley. Here’s a little March Madness humor for you. I always love this time of year when brackets become the language of choice.

Today’s View From the Bull Pen

The odds aren't good. Simply put waiting for an NBA player to make a free throw is a bit like waiting for the Cubs to win the World Series. It just ain't gonna happen. At least in our lifetimes. It reminds me of one of my favorite stories. Legendary basketball coach Don Haskins, all 250 plus pounds of him, had a player who apparently thought a bit highly of himself and didn't find his deficiency at the free throw line to be that big of a deal. Haskins challenged him to a free throw contest and let the kid go first. The kid hit a couple out of 10 or so and proudly handed old man Haskins the ball. After the coach hit his 100th in a row without a miss the kid learned his lesson. Don't argue with the Bear. And learn to shoot free throws.

There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen (that I've found yet) so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.
