dodgers

The Rockies have a Hurdle to climb
Somehow, someway the Rockies will have to find a way either through, over or around the dodgers if they hope to continue their June Boom and make a real run at a playoff spot.

Question of the day?
Are the Rockies better in the long run without Matt Holliday?

Here’s the day’s cartoon in rough form.

    yes yes and yes.

Pitching will always be more important than a good hitter for any team the rockies success in June is a testament to that. Are the rockies really even missing Holiday at all? Huston Street alone is probably worth the trade. I admit that I wanted Dan ODowd out after that trade but it has turned out to be better than anyone could have imagined. The rockies made Holiday a great offer that I think he will eventually regret turning down if he hasn’t already considering he would be making a lot more money right now if he accepted their deal.

  2. Yes indeed, the Rockies are better. Just look at the record and tell me they’re not!!

    Good Afternoon from Omana,
I have heard that pitching is the coin of the realm in baseball and the Rox have seemingly found some guys who do more than throw, which in not pitching.
the team has also responded well to the new coach by going 21-7 in June and climbing back into contention. If not Tracy, some one has put the defib paddles to the team and given them the jolt they needed. Hopefully, now that they have a pulse again, they will find a way to get past the Manny-less Dodgers and all the mayham he will bring to the locker room. If Joe Torre can deal with that again he will certifiably know his stuff. You still have to believe they can do it!!!
Oh yes the Royals lost to the twins.
Better move on. Yes I am home and very well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
Remember, strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

Forget the Dodgers; the Rockies have to get by the Giants first. And don’t be surprised if the Giants catch the Dodgers.

Sports are awesome. Schools must give importance to the physical education subjects to students in order to have a better grasp of the benefits of physical education.

Today’s View From the Bull Pen

The odds aren't good. Simply put waiting for an NBA player to make a free throw is a bit like waiting for the Cubs to win the World Series. It just ain't gonna happen. At least in our lifetimes. It reminds me of one of my favorite stories. Legendary basketball coach Don Haskins, all 250 plus pounds of him, had a player who apparently thought a bit highly of himself and didn't find his deficiency at the free throw line to be that big of a deal. Haskins challenged him to a free throw contest and let the kid go first. The kid hit a couple out of 10 or so and proudly handed old man Haskins the ball. After the coach hit his 100th in a row without a miss the kid learned his lesson. Don't argue with the Bear. And learn to shoot free throws.

There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen (that I've found yet) so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.
