Alltiedup

So it’s All Tied Up.
The Rockies come home with the series even. Or is it?
Fans have a lot more control then we often give ourselves credit for. We choose the price we will pay for tickets, whether we endorse a coach, general manager or ownership, and, most importantly, how difficult we can make it for visiting teams and how great and loud we can make it for the home team. The ball’s in your court now Rockies fans. You can choose to make the Phillies’ visit to Coors Field, cordial or not so cordial. You can lift the Rockies and give them an advantage. A true home field advantage. It’s going to be cold, but that has never stopped Colorado fans before, so don’t let it start now. It may be even. But it’s not. They don’t call it Rocktober for nothing.

    Drew–

Greetings from the East Coast! I am really enjoying the “Rocktober” cartoons right now… it’s a little strange/interesting being a Rockies fan out here in the Philly area. Keep up the great work!

    All the best!

  3. Mike says:

Remember to be courteous to the Philly fans. Thank them for coming to the game and stimulating our economy, then give them directions to DIA.

  4. Derek says:

The weather outside is frightful, but the Rockies are so delightful. And since Philly has nowhere to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

  5. Drew says:

    Derek,

    Now that’s the spirit!

  6. Myk-El says:

Looks like the Rockies game on Monday is now an afternoon game which I now cannot make due to work obligations which is sad (And my ticket has already been given away). But I’ll be there in spirit. I’m not a big fan of MLB scheduling right now.

Also, I’m watching the Broncos play right now, down 17-10. They don’t look to good today. Not playing that well either. (I’d heard rumors about how bad those first uniforms looked, but nothing really prepared me for this).

Today’s View From the Bull Pen

The odds aren't good. Simply put waiting for an NBA player to make a free throw is a bit like waiting for the Cubs to win the World Series. It just ain't gonna happen. At least in our lifetimes. It reminds me of one of my favorite stories. Legendary basketball coach Don Haskins, all 250 plus pounds of him, had a player who apparently thought a bit highly of himself and didn't find his deficiency at the free throw line to be that big of a deal. Haskins challenged him to a free throw contest and let the kid go first. The kid hit a couple out of 10 or so and proudly handed old man Haskins the ball. After the coach hit his 100th in a row without a miss the kid learned his lesson. Don't argue with the Bear. And learn to shoot free throws.

There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen (that I've found yet) so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.
