Today’s View From the Bull Pen
Putin and His Preciousssss
Some days you just have to go with silly. Really silly. Of course, the whole story of Vladimir Putin stealing Robert Kraft's Super Bowl Ring is pretty silly. And, I might add, a bit bizarre. This along with the recent news about Putin's divorce and supposed affair with a 20 something is clear evidence that somebody named Vladimir is having a mid-life crisis. As always, your readership and your comments help to make the world go round, so please continue to add them. I will try to do a better job of responding.
There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.

Good Morning from Omaha,
congratulations to Humbers!!!! A former Slayor that they waived just to get rid of him. and when KC needs pitching he is now in chicago!
Just goes to show how scouting can be a fickle mistress. That and the fact that getting into a winning atmosphere with better coaching can make or break a career.
Perfection it is. The slayors seemingly have a lot of diamonds in the rough that they don’t know how to handle. Watch for former KC stars coming to a team near you soon.
Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
Gene
Great cartoon on a short notice! Reminiscent of my former hometown paper (The Tulsa Tribune) on the day of the Challenger Disaster: The Trib was an afternoon release paper, and cartoonist David Simpson at the last minute penned a moving tribute just before deadline that wound up winning a Pulitzer.
Obviously, a perfect game is a much happier occasion…but still good to know that you can adapt and put out a great toon when needed!
Dear Drew
I’m just glad you had something else to draw about besides the violence of the NHL playoffs. Maybe it’ll give you a chance to clear out your mind from it and maybe be able to draw about other items in sports.
All the best

Humber also had a short run with the Twins, Gene. Ah, the world of player trades in professional sports! Pitching a perfect game is, for a pitcher, what winning the World Series is to the whole team, I would imagine. Such an epic moment in the career and life of a ball player.
Drew, you’ve been riding, what seems like, a tsunami wave of change. I hope that the wave changes to more of a surfer’s paradise, just so you are able to enjoy, a little more, the ride you’re on at the moment. I love this cartoon, and the use of multiple mediums. You have embraced the digital cartooning age well. (Me…I still prefer the ol’ pen and ink, while secretly wondering what it would be like to be a colorist, or even to write copy.)

It’s too bad ESPN took your cartoons off. That’s how I discovered you.
