The New Get Rich Quick Idea
I’m actually starting to think this could be the answer to the entire planets financial woes. A Pool on every corner. There’s always room for the entrepreneurial spirit in all of us. Much cheaper than a Starbucks franchise as well.

This year I won’t be taking part in a pool unless my wife and The Schnauzer are up for it. that’s the way it is when you work out of a home office. I was never any good in Office pools anyway. I think one year I was the only one who picked every 16th seed out of the hat.

Hey. I listen! A few of you said that you couldn’t read the comments that you left because of the dark grey background so, wah-lah, presto change-o. A few more of you thought the lettering neede more orange to match the menu bar. Fixed. I love your comments and I’ trying to do a better job of jumping in the midst of the conversation, so keep ‘em coming.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ON FRIDAY MORNING So please be sure to check back in for more toons and news.

    Good Morning from Omaha,
Hopefully March Madness brings an end to this long winter. Its snowing again this morning in Omaha.
Gotta find a bracket but first lets see who is in. After NE beat Mizzou yesterday at the Big 12 tournament
    anything can happen.
No I didn’t expect NE to win after losing 12 out of 14 games in the Big 12 but if they want to keep playing they have to keep winning.(enough of the captain obvious stuff)

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
    Gene

  2. This post is beyond awesome. I am always wondering what to do and what not to do so I will follow some of these tips.

Im baaaaaack! Hello Drew, Hello Gene and everyone else I forgot.
Yes, Im still around and am looking around for a job. Health is fine, I got my wife and family so I cannot complain.

Boy I am ready to get into some of these office pools but like you Drew it is very hard to get ahold of one at home. Look for some upsets yes but, look out for West Virginia to get ahold of the big east title and my personal favorite John Wall and the Kentucky Wildcats to win it all!! I should be paid giving out this information. :) Any one team can beat another team so be carefull of high favorites in the bracket.EVERYONE is beatable this year! So choose wisely. It is great being back have a wonderfull day!!!

I’ll take Syracuse and a box of thin mints. If you try to do a pool for the women’s tournament, everyone but Nebraska residents will take UConn – and the thin mints.

Sorry for the randomness, but I love the new(er) version of the site! The old new one was really hard to read the text… the lighter gray makes it much better! Keep up the great work Drew! =)

  6. Please, keep up the good work and continue to post topics like this. I am old fan of your blog!

Today’s View From the Bull Pen

The odds aren't good. Simply put waiting for an NBA player to make a free throw is a bit like waiting for the Cubs to win the World Series. It just ain't gonna happen. At least in our lifetimes. It reminds me of one of my favorite stories. Legendary basketball coach Don Haskins, all 250 plus pounds of him, had a player who apparently thought a bit highly of himself and didn't find his deficiency at the free throw line to be that big of a deal. Haskins challenged him to a free throw contest and let the kid go first. The kid hit a couple out of 10 or so and proudly handed old man Haskins the ball. After the coach hit his 100th in a row without a miss the kid learned his lesson. Don't argue with the Bear. And learn to shoot free throws.

There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen (that I've found yet) so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.
