    Congrats Grant!

I work with a guy who is originally from the Bay area, and a VERY passionate Raiders fan. Me, being a VERY passionate Broncos fan, makes football season quite interesting in the workplace. He was “in my face” a couple of weeks ago…so “in my face” that he not only invaded my “cubicle, sweet cubicle” (and we all know how small a cubicle is) – he invaded my personal space. You could see his face turn dark red, and his jugular vein pop out as he trash-talked my Broncos. I stood up and matter-of-factly told him that 1) he was in my space, 2) the Raiders don’t stand a chance, and 3) we were there to work. I thought to myself, ‘if this is pre-season, what is he going to be like on September 12th?’ All of this in Minnesota Vikings country (who, by the way, shut out Kubiak’s Houston Texans last night in pre-season football)! lol

As we celebrate Labor Day weekend, I give thanks that ‘at least I have a job’ – and I pray for those who do not, that the right opportunity will make its way known to them soon.

    Go Broncos!

    Peg

Well, thanks Peg and to Drew.

Just a note of Obsessive Compulsion here — For Bronco fans in the Bay Area attempting to use this method to protect their house, put the boards on the outside of the doors and windows. More effort and work is needed to remove the boards and nails than if you nailed them on the inside.

On the inside – the zombies just have to keep pushing forward. On the outside – it will require the brainless wits to problem solve how to pull out a nail as well as use force moving away from the house. This buys you precious time to grab your weapon of choice. :)

    Happy Labor Day to all.

Today’s View From the Bull Pen

The odds aren't good. Simply put waiting for an NBA player to make a free throw is a bit like waiting for the Cubs to win the World Series. It just ain't gonna happen. At least in our lifetimes. It reminds me of one of my favorite stories. Legendary basketball coach Don Haskins, all 250 plus pounds of him, had a player who apparently thought a bit highly of himself and didn't find his deficiency at the free throw line to be that big of a deal. Haskins challenged him to a free throw contest and let the kid go first. The kid hit a couple out of 10 or so and proudly handed old man Haskins the ball. After the coach hit his 100th in a row without a miss the kid learned his lesson. Don't argue with the Bear. And learn to shoot free throws.

There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen (that I've found yet) so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.
