I did this for the Chicago Tribune on Saturday. Cutler apparently is “excited” about the new Mike Martz offense that the Bears will run this season. The truth is he won’t be too thrilled about it if he throws 26 interceptions like he did last year. 26 more reasons to be glad he’s gone and the Broncos drafted Tim Tebow.

    Good Morning from Omaha,
great cartoon, drew. the play looks fairly simple. Lets hope that cutler understands what is supposed to happen. How about those rockies! beat the a.l. cy young award winner and the royals at the same time.
Maybe this weekend will be a launching pad for them. and maybe the royals who had been hot, until they came home, will go back out on the road and win somemore. The royals are a “funny” team. and they are not good.
strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

Good morning Gene! Alas the Rockies found a way to win a few on the road. Greinke is an amazing pitcher. And I loved Dexter Fowler climbing the wall. That was pretty funny. All in all a good weekend, unless you happen to be a Royals fan. I find it frustrating that teams like the Royals don’t have more a of a fighting chance year in and year out because the Yankees for the world have all the money. It seems unfair to me.
Attack the day like Birds of Prey, man!

Ha, just wait people are forgetting that in his last game Cutler threw 4 TD’s and no INT’s.
Drew, wish you were still here in Denver.

    Hi Dolly,

I’m still here in Denver. I just draw cartoons for the Chicago Tribune and ESPN.com. Wish I had a daily local venue but The Denver Post isn’t too much into cartoons.

Can’t believe what I am about to say… I’m glad Cutler is gone. He had value as a prospect, but it does not seem like he panned out too well for Chicago. We have 1.5 prospects (Quinn is the .5 since he is no longer a rookie) and a modern era Steve DeBerg to hold the line while the two future QBs develop or pull Cutlers.

This year is the put-up or shut-up year for Cutler. It just doesn’t seem like he has the decision making skills to come through on a consistently successful basis each week.

Drew you were gentle on Cutler not showing him impaled on individual blades of grass by a 300lb lineman…

Too funny! What did I hear, Jay would have a good year with Martz but Chicago would still be 5 and 11?

Drew, love your comics, but you are truly harsh on all things Chicago. (Cubs, Bears, etc.)

I am truly amazed at how much animosity that Denver fans still have with Cutler, the QB that McGenius didn’t want. He asked to be traded after being lied to about the interest in other QB’s. Sorry, I don’t blame him. Frankly, I am glad to have him in Chicago and look forward to a long productive career. If Bronco fans want to waive the flag of victory after 1 year, that is fine by me. I will enjoy seeing the Broncos fall even lower in the AFC West due to the demolition of the team by McDaniels. BTW – Was the choke at the end of the 2009 season Cutler’s fault as well? (Denver seems to be blaming him for the 2008 season after the defense gave up 112 points in the last 3 games.

Good luck with Orton, Quinn, Tebow, Royal, and Quinn II. Enjoy the losing season as McDaniels realizes that he shouldn’t have messed with the #2 offense in the league.

I am just amazed that so many intelligent people in Denver blame the 25 year old kid who was lied to and disrespected instead of the 34 year old coach whose ego (which is larger than life) caused him to dismantle a team that was on the verge of a perennial playoff run. Perhaps you should stop blaming the player and look at the true cause…

Today’s View From the Bull Pen

The World is in Chaos, The Economy is in the Dumpster...And Peyton Manning throws a Pass. Nice to know we have it all in perspective.

There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen (that I've found yet) so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.
