Today's cartoon Drawn for 9News KUSA Denver

Tebow time also means Kool Aid time. Clearly it’s time for even the harshest of Tebow critics to take a drink from the Winning Well. Somehow, someway he manages to get the win. All at the expense of the central nervous system of every Broncos fan on the planet. Week in and week out we hang on the edge of our seats just to see what Tebow has up his sleeve this time. And don’t we know better by now. It’s another win.

10 Responses to Broncos and Tebow: Just winning

  1. Amen!

  2. Louis says:

    Dear Drew,

To paraphrase a saying from the late Al Davis ,”just win Tebow”. This time the defense didn’t live up to their recent history (I’m sure mostly because of no Von Miller) so Tebow and his offense had to score more and they did.. Best of all Tebow did it more with his arm (10-15, 202 yards and 2 TD’s0 than his legs (4-13 yards). Granted at times is improvement has been like watching a car when you “pop the clutch” A lot of jerks but once you get going its smooth sailing.

On a side note you may need to brush off one of your old cartoons and update it for this season. It was early in the career of John Elway when he was named to the pro bowl. you had a cartoon of a guy eating at a diner. The guy behind the counter said something like,”Elway in the Pro Bowl? What did he lead the league in?” to which the customer looked at him with a smug look and replied,”Wins”. IF Tebow makes the all-star game (of whatever they now call it) that will be the reason why.

    All the best

    Good Morning from Omaha,
football is a team game. don’t get too carried away with the tebow “magic”. Its an effort by the entire team. the offense, the defense the special teams all played well. Tebow has helped the bronco’s believe they can win and coach fox has found a way to put the right people in the right places at the right time.
Tebow is a one of kind. When he scored on the conversion the look in his eyes told it all. His drive to win, his desire to succeed is second to none and it is that drive that his team respects and responds to when they hit the field.sometimes believing you can win is that little finishing touch to put the game plan come together.
They scored 35 points yesterday which is more than the usual 17-20 points they have scored previously. Looks like the coach is working them into a more advanced play book. when the quarterback really gets a grasp of what is going on around him and is finished with is on the job training- he could be pretty good.
Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
    Gene

  4. Harry Thomas says:

I still would prefer a Von Miller jersey to a Tebow jersey for Christmas. But after watching him throw for 202 yards yesterday, I have climbed on the Tebow bandwagon. Even former Bronco Tom Jackson on ESPN’s “The Blitz” has to admit that the phenomenon is real.

The Broncos potentially winning the AFC West after last year’s 4-12 record comes under the heading of “ironic overload.” I don’t think they’ll get past the first round, but it’s a warm fuzzy to think that they will be able to make the playoffs with a possibility of winning. Even better are the graphics on TV that show Denver in the lead on the division and the Raiders now relegated to the “In the hunt” column.

  5. Sherri says:

Another good one, Drew. It made me think of the Elway collection and wondering if you would be doing one on Tebow in many years to come…………I am very close to drinking the KoolAid, but I think as Bronco fans it takes a while before we expose ourselves to possible disappointment. My favorite thing about yesterday, no option! Hats off to the offensive coordinator who seems to be one step ahead of defenses this season. My chagrin for not remembering his name…….

  6. Felicia says:

My apologies to The Monkees for altering their song lyrics a bit: “When I saw the score, now I’m a believer!”

And it’s happening on a consistent basis.

  7. kevin says:

I know you guys might consider this disrespectful (I don’t care because I’m not a Broncos fan), but I think it would have been funnier if the water was dumped on John Elway specifically rather than the impersonnal skeptics. Just a thought.

  8. Gay says:

    Gay.

  9. Drew says:

Kevin, I was going to have him dumping on Elway but the cartoon I did last week for 9News had Tebow tormenting Elway. So I made it generic.

  10. Louis says:

    Dear Drew,

i don’t know if you’ll be interested but today on the Rush Limbaugh show he did a segment about Tebow and the reason why so many people seem to want him to fail. Now he does transcript his shows on his public website so if you want to check it out just google the man.

I want to say more but the last time I did anything with a political tone to it several people were *hacked* by it so I won’t say more. Just thought you’d like to know

    All the best

    Louis
