My first of two Peyton Manning cartoons for the day. This one is for my syndicate Universal Press. The fact that Manning was so incredible in the Broncos opener against one of the NFL’s best defenses is huge and, naturally, a national story. If there were questions about Manning’s health, those have been answered beyond belief. If you are a Broncos fan then I’m guessing you are pretty excited. If you are a Tebow fan who decided to abandon ship because the Broncos made the right decision and traded Tebow to avoid the boo birds in the stands, well, good luck with that.
Today’s View From the Bull Pen
Growing up in the late 60's and early 70's, I was a huge NBA fan. From Wilt the Stilt to Jerry West to Nate Archibald to my personal favorite, Pete Maravich, I loved the game and watched it as often as I could. Somewhere along the way, sometime after Magic and Bird, I lost that loving feeling, and, unless I just have to watch it for work purposes, I avoid The NBA at all costs.
This cartoon is as clear a comment about those feelings as I can make in less than 100 words. Inspired by the Eagles song "Wasted Time" which I recently heard while watching the History of the Eagles DVD, I think it is my definitive statement about how I really feel about the NBA. It all seems like a colossal waste of time. Don't you agree?
As always, your readership and your comments help to make the world go round, so please continue to add them. I will try to do a better job of responding.
There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.
