Today’s View From the Bull Pen
Idiots Among Us
The latest Bozo Award in the world of sports belongs to Sergio Garcia. The tiff between him and Tiger Woods is legendary and has escalated in recent weeks. But the recent statement by Garcia about Tiger Woods coming over to his house for dinner with fried chicken on the menu is beyond belief. It proves once again that even though golf is a cerebral game, stupid people somehow manage to find a way on the course regardless. True Idiocy reigns on the PGA tour.Like MLK, I too have a dream. That someday we will no longer see the color of a man's skin, or judge them by their sexuality, but instead, with compassion and strength, seek to live as equals in the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.
Until that day, I will rage on in cartoons like this one about the utter stupidity of some people who, unfortunately, inhabit the same planet I do.As always, your readership and your comments help to make the world go round, so please continue to add them. I will try to do a better job of responding.
There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.

“Remember that nobody will ever get ahead of you as long as he is kicking you in the seat of the pants.”- Walter WinchellTwitter Goodies

Drew, you are too kind to these “seasoned veterans” who played more like a bunch of hapless rookies.
Love the cartoon, but I feel this historic collapse deserved something Edgar Allen Poe-ish to truly punctuate the depths of the Bronco’s failure. Maybe a flock of ravens circling a wounded donkey saying “nevermore” over and over?
Here’s something clever written on denverpost.com to possibly inspire…
Once upon a weekend dreary, finally we saw them clearly,
Those same ole Donkeys of the days of yore,
While they hustled, Chump was napping and suddenly the Donks were snapping,
As Jacoby ran in for another long score.
Tis a fluke, the faithful muttered, surely in OT we’ll score
Only a fluke, and nothing more.
Then there was Ray wearing a mask which the Donkeys found beguiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance he wore,
“Though pushed nearly to breaking, it is Peyton that is shaking.”
The ghastly grim and tired Raven stated as they picked off another pass which was poor.
And as the football fluidly floated through the uprights for the final score,
Quoth the Ravens, `Nevermore.’
Good Morning from Omaha,
Its easy to point to Peytons interception as the main cause for the bronco’s loss but in general the whole team and coaching staff seemed to be playing a game of hot potato with this game.
The conservative play calling, champ bailey getting beaten again and again on double moves and by youth and then that “hillside little league” play misreading the path of the ball that ended up in a touchdown. That poor guy looked like a right fielder on a minor league team at your local little league. He stood up and took the responsibility for his poor play after the game.
It was a team loss. John Fox did his best touche’ turtle imitation as well with his play calling. Everyone had there moment of shame.
The ravens made all the plays they needed to make. It wasn’t like they did not cause some of those break downs, they did. After losing 9 straight to Peyton, the number were with them and while it stings, now, next year will be a different season and this will be a distant memory.
Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
Gene
Yes, Rahim Moore missed his play, but to totally blame him is not fair, it was a team break down. Peyton “a future HOF” quarterback threw interceptions, Champ got burned a few times, Prater missed a field goal, our defense didn’t put much pressure on Flaco and Fox didn’t play to win. Sad.
With that said, they are still my Broncos and I still am a fan.
Wish I had something to add to this, did not see this coming, did not do any hedging, left myself wide open emotionally, but with the understanding that Monday morning could be a tough one. Can only take comfort in the thought that the there are coaches and players, who get paid a lot of money, who feel worse than I do. At any rate they better…….
Yeah, I watched the game on Saturday. And spent a good part of the time yelling at the TV. What I saw: the Broncos did not respect their opponent. And Baltimore pinned their ears back for that mistake in judgement. Some bad calls by the refs didn’t help.
Just goes to show that on any given weekend, you never know what team is gonna show up to play.
Drew,
It isn’t often for the Donks to be on the toasty end of the ‘toon, but damn did you capture it! Great work!!!
