Today’s View From the Bull Pen
Idiots Among Us
The latest Bozo Award in the world of sports belongs to Sergio Garcia. The tiff between him and Tiger Woods is legendary and has escalated in recent weeks. But the recent statement by Garcia about Tiger Woods coming over to his house for dinner with fried chicken on the menu is beyond belief. It proves once again that even though golf is a cerebral game, stupid people somehow manage to find a way on the course regardless. True Idiocy reigns on the PGA tour.Like MLK, I too have a dream. That someday we will no longer see the color of a man's skin, or judge them by their sexuality, but instead, with compassion and strength, seek to live as equals in the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.
Until that day, I will rage on in cartoons like this one about the utter stupidity of some people who, unfortunately, inhabit the same planet I do.As always, your readership and your comments help to make the world go round, so please continue to add them. I will try to do a better job of responding.
There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.

“The surest way to more humor at work is not being funny. It’s encouraging fun.”- Brad Montgomery, Corporate ComedianTwitter Goodies

Last night, my sister and I were sitting in a Twin Cities (MN) suburban restaurant/sports bar owned by a gentleman who is from the same small town in Colorado, where I was born. I glanced up at the television screens. One had the Devils vs. Kings Stanley Cup game; another had the Heat vs. Thunder NBA game; another had a baseball game; and yet, another had a recap of the day’s earlier playing of the Memorial golf championship.I thought to myself, what a convergence of sports at one time – and that doesn’t include soccer, lacrosse, tennis, or the WNBA!
Colorado sports and outdoor enthusiasts, have so many activities from which to choose, during these summer months as well. From kayaking, or rafting, on the Arkansas River through my hometown of Salida, to camping in any one of the state or national parks; catching a Rockies game; taking a bicycle tour of Colorful Colorado, or supporting the upcoming US Pro-cycling Challenge in August — there are so many sports from which to choose, as a participant and/or fan.
All that being said, there is one sport, one team, that I follow more than any, as a life-long fan…the Denver Broncos. Drew, I love your cartoon, because it shows the excitement in the adventure that is Broncos (and NFL) football. With summer comes OTAs and mini-camps; and before too long, a full-fledged training camp and pre-season games. There is a lot of work that still needs to be done, to get any football team ready for the fall. In the meantime, each of us should take advantage of the summer weather, and enjoy the opportunities around us – wherever we may live.
Peg
Good Morning from Omaha,
fresh air and sunshine will cure a lot of what ails you. Foot ball season is coming. they are doing the OTA’s this week and I think in june.Peyton and the bronco’s are going to be fun to watch and the chiefs are trying to put lipstick on the pig they have for a football team.
I agree with peg, better get outside while you can. They had the taste of Omaha festival downtown this weekend. Lots of people were out and about walking across the bob kerry bridge over the MO river and heartland park. Live music and food. the CWS (college world series) starts in mid june and we also have the olympic swim trails coming to town about that time. Gonna be a hot time in the “O” town .
still trying to learn to ride my bike but balance issues are slowing that down. So I am out walking about 5 miles a day and wearing out the soles on my shoes, a good thing.
Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
