Pressure.
Too often parents are becoming totally overbearing and downright vile during their kids sporting events. Acting like spoiled two-year-olds they make the whole experience uncomfortable and embarrassing. This, of course, puts undo pressure on the kids, coaches and and school administrators. I think this cartoon provides some really worthwhile advice. The unfortunate thing is the people who need it most will heed it least.

One Response to Sports: The parent Trap

  1. gene says:

    Good Morning from Omaha,
I was one of those parents and then I realized that I didn’t know the people sitting around me that may have kids out there playing there hearts out, in addition to mine.
you have to be positive with the h.s. kids. Most are playing for the love of the game and will not get much of a chance beyond there time in school to experience the effort it takes to be good at something.
You gotta love em. Life is hard enough without the extra pressure put on them to play a game they love at a level that they can not possible maintain.
Let the kids play and enjoy.
Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
    Gene
