Dream Weaver: C.J. Anderson

It finally looks as though the Broncos have found a running game. Just in time too. They will need a very balanced attack to beat the Chiefs on Sunday night in Kansas City.

A few thoughts and musings for a Monday morning:

1. When did Rich Karlis start kicking for the Broncos again?

2. My bad. It’s Brandon McManus. He’s young. But someone needs to tell him…You can’t miss 33 yard field goal attempts and play in the NFL.

3. Glad to see C.J. Anderson have a break out game. Even more thrilled for an offensive line that has been blamed for everything from stores being open on Thanksgiving to the rising cost of Mocha Lattes at Starbucks. They stepped up. It’s just too bad they needed Richie Incognito threats to do so.

4. I think the whole season rides on Sunday night’s game against the Chiefs. It is a must win for the Broncos. It’s also a prime time game and, as you know, The Broncos have not exactly been Prime Time players. The Chiefs, meanwhile, are really ticked off having been made the laughing stock of the NFL by losing to Raiders last Thursday night. Wait. That was a Prime Time game too. I say take the Broncos by 4 and hold the Frito Pizza.

5. Frito Pizza. Possibly invented by a Chiefs fan after watching his team lose to the Raiders on Prime Time.

6. Who do you hate more. Phil Simms or Chris Collinsworth?

7. Yeah. I know. It’s a coin flip.

  1. Why would I hate either one? I will say that Chris may be the most knowledgable announcer on the air, but they both are insightful.

I know that every announcer is biased against whatever team the viewer is a fan of – and their job is to keep viewers interested when the games look like blowouts, but hating them?

  2. I don’t hate either announcers. In fact, I enjoy Chris Collinsworth quite a lot. Phil is okay; he just needs to learn what a reverse is (and isn’t).

  3. I have never enjoyed Phil Simms, although yesterday he wasn’t nearly as antiBronco as I think he usually is. Also, he is very pedantic, to me. I may be slightly prejudiced against him, but I don’t really enjoy his commentary no matter who is playing. And we always seem to get him. Give me Rich Gannon any day. Chris irritates me as well, but again he didn’t seem so bad last night. Cant put my finger on why, tho. It must be difficult to sit next to Al Michaels and be relevant.

  4. Love John Lynch, tho! If I lived in Denver still, I would turn all these guys off and listen to Dave and the radio crew.

  5. 1. Rich Karlis is an excellent kicker, very accurate. Do you know how hard it is to hit those uprights on a consistent basis?

    2. Maybe someone could show Brian your comic of Rich facing his nemesis “The Uuprights”?

    3. Is it my imagination or is C.J. Anderson doing his impression of little Billy from Family circus, what ever works, right?

    4. Any given Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday… NFL parity does make things interesting, in a mind boggling manner.

    5. Frito Pizza??? Someone has way too much time on their hands

    6. Phil Simms or Chris Collinsworth, hmmm…

    7. Thank goodness for the MUTE button
