Feeling Grinchy?

Uncategorized

Nothing like a Broncos loss to put a damper on the Christmas Cheer. So if you wake up looking like this on Christmas morning my advice is don’t. It’s only a football game. There will be plenty more. But Christmas mornings…well, we only get so many of those. So go on…Have yourself a Merry little Christmas. I’ll be back next week with some new toons and a year in review!

Calendars will be going out in droves on Monday and Tuesday of next week. So sorry again for the delay

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

did not get a chance to see the game- they showed KC vs the raiders here in Omaha and we were at the first grandchilds house for christmas eve so the tv stayed off.

you are correct. its only a game. young qb’s and young teams have days like this. Its part of the maturation process for all involved. Now comes the real test. How do they respond to the disappointment of the last two weeks.

Then Fox will know what he has as a team.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a fantastic 2012!

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. So, it comes down to the last game of the season. Denver controls its own destiny.

    How wonderful.

Folks, even if Denver loses next week, I’ll take this season as a winner. To go from 4-12 to 8-8 (or 9-7, if we beat K.C.) with a chance to go to the playoffs is a definite step in the right direction.

Tebow may have crashed and burned the past two weeks, but it was bound to happen. Every team has a group of people watching the films of their opponents and New England and Buffalo had eight weeks of Tebow film to watch and figure out how to exploit his weaknesses.

During the offseason, Tebow will get the chance to work with the coaches and Elway on his game; something he didn’t get the chance to do last year because of the lockout. And from everything I’ve seen of his work ethic, he will work to become the power QB we need. As one pundit said a few weeks ago (Shannon Sharpe?), “A lot of players think they know it all, and stop trying to learn. Tebow knows he doesn’t know it all, and is willing to learn.”

It’s been a helluva ride, and one that looked like we wouldn’t get to board after Week 5, when we were 1-4. I was just as skeptical as any of the punditry because Tebow didn’t seem like he could throw. But after he threw for 200 yards a few weeks ago, I jumped on the bandwagon.

And for those of you who don’t remember, Elway looked a bit shaky in his first few years as a Bronco. Drew, you even did a cartoon showing a sign over the center’s butt after John lined up behind one of the linemen in one of his first games. It took time, but Elway finally got us not one but two Super Bowls. I hope we don’t have to wait 15 years like Elway did to win one, but I think we are finally starting to get the pieces in place to make a respectable run at the title again.

One thing I’m sure of; I don’t have to tell Tebow to stay strong. He’s built that way, and that’s a good thing.

  3. wouldn’t have thought about watching den until tebow was placed as qb.now i wouldn’t miss a game.doesn’t matter what happens he will always be my qb.i just wish they would let him play his game instead of trying to remake him.

    regards j
