Grumpy Old Men go to the Super Bowl

Uncategorized

Two old Geezers,

standing by the bleachers,

chewing their players out all day.

They’re pouting and sulking,

snarling and hulking,

Two Asses who grimace and bray.

They can’t stand to grin,

They can’t stand to win

They whine when they can’t get their way.

They have absolutely no fun

I can’t wait til they’re done

With this upcoming Super Bowl day.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

very clever! I had never thought about these two coaches in that way but you are so right.I thought I heard coughlin was a former drill instructor and his sideline demeanor sometimes portrays that. on time to coughlin is late, and early is on time, as far as scheduling meetings go.

There was a great two part series about the Pats coach this past summer. Guess what, he actually has a life away from football. He spends time with his family, goes sailing, plays golf- like a real person!

great effort, drew. another reason to smile in the morning.

strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. hi,been watching your posts and must say i enjoy them very much.i’m not a critic but do think your getting better all the time.this one of the two grumpy old coaches was very good.

    regards jb

  3. Drew, this one is hilarious, and gave me a really good laugh first thing in the morning.

Is it too late for me to wish that the Saints show up in the middle of the 4th quarter and whoop on both the Giants and the Patriots?

  4. Very funny, Drew! With everyone, else, thanks for the laugh! I am liking Meaghan’s thoughts, maybe a couple other teams could get together, call it Super Bowl Jr. See who gets the highest ratings………

  5. Drew–

You really captured the sour “I just drank a pint of pickle juice” expressions on those guys! Great drawing!

BTW, whatever happened to the grudge match cartoon you did a short while ago? It doesn’t show up very often on your website when I look it up.

  6. Dangit Drew. You keep me changing my favorites over and over again. Love the drawing, but love the poem just as much. I do not care for either of these guys based upon what I have watched over the years. I believe you have captured my vision of them perfectly. I can only hope the commercials are great this year since I have almost zero interest in the game.

  7. Dear Gene from Omaha,

Sad to hear about your stroke/hospitalization. You are in my prayers. Get well soon.

    All the best

    Louis
