Ode to Joy of a New Season

I love the start of baseball when hopes are high and spring is in the air. There really is nothing quite like it in all of sports. Coors Field is one of the greatest places on the planet to celebrate Opening Day. Every time I’m there I’m grateful, regardless of how the Rockies are predicted to finish, that we have Major League baseball in Denver. It was a long time coming and some thought it might never happen. So when you go to Coors this year and you are enjoying a Rockie Dog, a beverage and some nachos while watching Trevor Story and Nolan Arenado, be thankful. Yeah, we’d all like them to win more. But it’s the experience of singing “Take me Out to the Ballgame” at such a great place and with a National League team that makes it special.

  1. Watched 5 games in 5 days, different teams, down in Phoenix last month. Great time. The first 2 games were real defensive battles IIRC…something like 15-4 & 11-8 (long games). I do recall that we were on a streak of 19 runs per game, and upset at the 3rd because it wasn’t. Totally wrecked out average.

  2. There is nothing like the opening of baseball season, even if it just hearing the game on television while you go about your day. I love to go to Coors Field and whenever I can go, I know my favorite uncle, who was the hugest Rockies fan!, is still sitting with me eating peanuts and loving his beer. Cant wait to get home and see Arenado, Story, Cargo, DJ, and all the rest in person. And share a beer with Uncle Jim.

  3. wow drew,

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
