1. Absolutely, I’m back. I got to watch four of the best young players in the game (Nugent-Hopkins, Hall, Eberle and Schultz) play here in OKC. Besides, I’m not about to give haters of the sport more ammo for their stupid “Duh, nobody watches hockey” jokes.

   That said – and I don’t make this claim often about others – I would do a better job as commissioner than Gary Bettman. This is the third time as commish that he’s attempted to the season off the precipice, and it almost happened a second time under his watch. He’s antagonistic towards the players, dismissive of the fans, has no clue how to handle the media in spite of several chances, and has still not resolved the divide between the large-market and small-market owners after nearly two decades.

   If I was a conspiracy theorist, I’d think that Bettman was sent by David Stern to kneecap the NHL from threatening the NBA’s market share.
