today's cartoon is brought to you by the letters ESPN

Alabama turned in one of the most dominate games on the defensive side of the ball in the history of college football last night beating the LSU Tigers 21-0. LSU never advanced the ball beyond the 50 yard line all night long. So much for 13-0. Congrats to the Crimson Tide and to my pal, Kyle Banister, the only Alabama fan I know, who I’m sure was hoping for a cartoon of me eating crow (I was rooting for LSU).

Thanks for the huge numbers we got on Sunday nights cartoon for 9News (A Wing and A prayer) We set a DrewLitton.com record for the number of page views. It’s all because of you and your desire to share my content on the web that makes it happen! I appreciate it!

I was also interviewed by 9News and you can watch it at www.9News.com. I’ll try to embed the video later (we had some problems doing so earlier)

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

now we see why the sec has won 6 or 7 bcs championships in a row. the speed on that field last night was amazing. The pac of wolves out west, and the bevo bunch, the big 10-11-12 are not even playing the same game as in the sec. most of the kids that play in the sec are from the sec area.

Turns out there is a reason they have been so dominate besides the speed and skill at all positions these kids don’t want to leave home and the coaches are accommodating with an SEC only partial qualifier rule.

The schools out west, up north and across the plains are going to have to really start to get after these great kids playing high school football in the south. They can really play and just like pulling kids out of texas you have got to go where the talent is and bring some of it back with you up north or the sec will continue to rule the BCS in football for the foreseeable future.

Gee captain obvious, you think the other coaches haven’t tried to get some of that talent. Just a thought.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Dear Drew,

Lets see here The #1 team in the nation (now) wasn’t even the #1 team in their conference. I’ve said it before. I’ll be glad to say it again. If you’re not even the #1 team in your conference you have no business going for the #1 team in the nation. I feel sorry for the Oregon’s and Oklahoma State’s who worked hard. Won their conference and basically told “(Bleep) You!”

So as far as I’m concerned there is no true #1 team in football this year.

    All the best

    Louis

  3. The BCS argument in a nutshell:

“The SEC is the best conference. And they’re they best conference because they’re the SEC. The reason that they’re the best is because they’re in the SEC, which is the best conference, because they’re the SEC, which is also the best conference.”

    I hate tautologies.

  4. Sigh… I have to congratulate you on another great toon though I sure wish it had been my Tigers that were depicted biting the elephant’s hind end. Sadly they and the coaches failed to show up for the first time all season. I hate to admit it, but they beat LSU when it counted and as such deserve the number 1 spot.
