Tag Archives: Abraham Lincoln

I took a few days off during this past holiday weekend. It was great to take a break from what seems sometimes like endless deadlines. I hope you had as great a weekend as I did. I always take time to remember the vets who have done so much for us. My Dad served aboard the U.S.S. Pennsylvania during World War II as a Gunners mate. We owe so much to the brave and valiant men and women of that generation who gave so much in service to America.

I’ve been reading a lot about Abraham Lincoln lately. We took a great trip to D.C. back in April and I prepped myself with several books on Lincoln. I’m reading “Lincoln: Tried by War” right now along with a book called “Skipjack” about the last of the sailing Oystermen of Chesapeake Bay. Anyway this cartoon seemed like a setting to vent my frustration about the length of the NBA playoffs. By the way, this cartoon in no way is meant to disrespect the men who gave their lives for the greatest victory in our nations history; to free those held in the bondage of slavery.
