You can be sure there’s a lot of serious whining happening across America as the 2011 World Series begins tonight. If you rooted for any of the teams in today’s cartoon just remember what Cubs fans have come to know all to well…There’s always next year.

I have quite a few friends who are die-hard Red Sox fans. This malady is not quite as dangerous as, let’s say, being a Cubs fan is, or as concerning as being a CornHuskers fan can be, but it’s still pretty scary stuff. That said the Red Sox are in a free fall that is sending it’s fan base to the brink of turning into Yankees fans. OK. It’s not that bad. But close.

Here’s my second Steinbrenner cartoon, this one for United Features and the blog here at DrewLitton.com. This is the first time I’ve ever drawn a subject who has recently passed on end up in a warmer climate, if you get the drift. But the gag about Red Sox fans being there to torture him for eternity was too funny to pass up.

A Great Ride But…
Doesn’t it kind of leave us all hanging upside down a bit. Waiting for something more that didn’t quite get there. But that said, wasn’t it just a blast to have the Rockies back in the playoffs!! Rocktober Rules!
Now, how about them Broncos!
