Just ask Adam Dunn. The ball looks a bit like this each time it comes at you. And the harder you try to knock that silly little grin off of the little monsters face, the harder it becomes.

In terms of creative exercises this is a good example of when NOT to censor or edit yourself. I almost did that, initially throwing it aside in my mind. Years of being edited in a print environment can do that to you. But the more  I thought about it, the  funnier I thought the image was. Almost like my forked goalpost cartoon of long ago. So I drew it, the editors at the Chicago Tribune loved it and here is now in all it’s haunting glory.

I told you the other day about my new syndicate home, but I think I might have gotten the link mixed up. Here’s the one I think is the one to see http://www.gocomics.com/drewlitton . Please feel free to subscribe there as well. The better my numbers, the more likely they are to keep me!

I’ve given my blog on Creativity, the Creators Incubator a total makeover as I try to ramp it up in the weeks and months ahead. I’ve kind of made it a lot less about me and a lot more about, well,  creativity.

Things are a little crazy in Chicago these days. The White Sox are Hot and the Cubbies are most definitely not. Know what else is hot (besides the weather)? Super Exciting Stuff on Tuesday. It’s an App-ening so stay tooned! Yep, that’s right a Drew App is on the way! So by all means be here Tuesday. And bring a few of your closest friends with you.

My kind of town…

Starting this Saturday, October 31, I will be debuting a new weekly feature in the sports pages of The Chicago Tribune. The cartoon called “The Main Event” will be all about the Chicago sports scene. I’m more than excited to launch this new feature in such a terrific and award winning newspaper as the Tribune. I have long maintained that a sports cartoon, done on a local level, has a great chance to really connect with readers. It’s what I prided myself on while at the Rocky Mountain News. I encourage you all to bookmark the Tribune’s site and I’ll give you a more definitive url when it launches Saturday. I’ll also post the cartoon here every week sometime during the weekend, but still encourage you to visit the Tribs site as well. After all, don’t you just miss Jay Cutler that much. My daily cartoons on here won’t change. You’ll just get an extra Chicago related toon thrown in. Cool, huh.
