I fell into a bracket burning fire…It’s been a Crazy tournament so far. My favorite Cinderella story…Virginia Commonwealth! I Loved seeing Arizona beat Texas. Having spent several trips to spring training in Tucson you quickly learn how vital their basketball program is to the community. So how about you? How did your brackets turn out?

This is my perfect idea of an NFL Lockout. Anybody up for joining me?
Another day of not being able to get to comments. I am so sorry. I had a three deadline day, which believe me is nothing like a three Martini day, except, of course, they make you feel about the same way. Especially the morning after. So please bear with me. Oh and Happy St Patty’s day to you. I’m so glad Patrick Roy got his own holiday. Oh. My bad. Wrong Patrick. Wear green. Just don’t drink it! Me? I think I’ll put on some U2, Great Big Sea or some Enter the Haggis and maybe have a pint o’ Guinness. Sounds Irish to me. You all have any special plans or ways you celebrate the day? I wanna know.

It’s that time of year when some of us (not naming names) become one with our couches and refrigerators and go a little…well, mad. Here’s my cartoon on the 7 warning signs of March Madness. Even one of these and you could have it. All 7, heaven help you and your significant other. This cartoon is featured in this months Mile High Sports Magazine available throughout the Denver Metro area. Or click on the link for a digital view.
Upsets
Well, there goes the brackets. It only takes a day to to unleash the wrecking ball on office pools throughout the country. It’s one of the reasons that the tourney is so terrific. You just never know what you’re going to get.
For me, it was tough watching UTEP get blown out. I grew up down the street from Don Haskins who coached UTEP to multiple NCAA tournament wins. One very historic one in fact. In 1966 TWC (the school changed its name in ’67) beat Kentucky to win the National Championship. They even made a movie out of it called Glory Road. So I’m ready for football season.
And I’ll gladly embrace the start of baseball. Especially with the blizzard out the window.
