Golf is one of the most torturous games on the planet. I think the cartoons I enjoy drawing the most are the ones like this one. I think a lot of people can relate to this one and I love when something I draw connects on that level. I don’t play golf anymore. The insurance company wouldn’t cover the people I was playing with for catastrophic injury. I’ve been known to people with an errant shot or two. I can relate to the infamous words of Fuzzy Zoeller, who I heard tell a gallery at Castle Pines to move back a bit. “Trust me. The way I’m hitting the ball, you don’t want to be standing there”.
This cartoon is from the May issue of Mile High Sports Magazine. Grab a copy if you can. it looks much better in print.
No webcast for today. I need a week to work out the kinks and clean up my studio enough that it doesn’t resemble a scene from Sanford and Son.
Have a terrific and wonderful Mothers day weekend.

Broncos We Hardly Knew Ye
At this rate I’m not sure the Broncos will have much left in camp but Draft picks. I mean I’ve heard of cleaning house before but for goodness sakes, at least leave the kitchen sink. Amazing how one event, the firing of Mike Shanahan, has brought this once proud franchise to this. I’m sure everyone has some thoughts on this topic which I hope you will sound of on here. Do me a favor. Send this cartoon or the link to it to every Broncos fan you know. I think they all will find some humor in it.
ESPN cartoons later in the week.
Sherrie asked this question on Facebook and I just want to update. I should have a cartoon up on ESPN.com sometime before now and Thursday and I plan on drawing Thursday for Friday.
Mile High Sports Magazine has asked me to do the cover art for the June issue. Totally excited about that. I’ll update you when I can.
Now here’s a fun little poll for you to play with and the comments section is wide open and waiting for your opinion.

Good day to call in sick!!!
Here’s your schedule for the day.
1. Make and Pour coffee. You should have done this by now.
2. Read today’s cartoon about the Rockies season (currently doing that). Laugh (hopefully). Leave comment. Remind yourself to pick up the newest issue of Mile High Sports Magazine where the cartoon is in living color. Print makes it look Cool.
3. Click on this ESPN.com link to see other Drew cartoon for the morning. Kindly leave another comment. Drew likes these.
4. Pour another cup of coffee and enjoy a leisurely breakfast reading the News. Until you get to the story about Shanahan signing Donovan McNabb to the Redskins. Scream. Recheck your Fantasy lineup.
5. Noonish: Watch a few minutes of predictable and very controlled Tiger Woods press conference from The Masters. Refer back to this link at ESPN.com
6. 12:10 Turn it over to FSN Rocky Mountain for the Rockies vs. Brewers.
7. Post game. Nap. You’ll need it.
8. 6 p.m. Order Chicken Wings and Pizza.
9. 7 p.m. Butler vs Duke on CBS.
10. Call in sick again for Tuesday. Check ESPN.com on Tuesday morning for another Drew cartoon.
This cartoon is out now at the news stands and bookstores in the Denver Metro area. It looks so much prettier in print. So rush now and buy a copy!
I need your help!
I’m still stunned by the decision by the Denver Post to cut 21 comic strips on Monday. Newspapers are in the midst of incredible turmoil right now. But there comes a time when readers (those who still read papers ) have to stand up for the content they enjoy or lose it forever. I urge you today to call or e-mail, or write a letter to the Post. Let them know that comics are important and you love reading them and you want the strips reinstated. Or we stand to lose an American institution: the comic strip. Thanks.
Now about that header
I’m sure by now you’re growing weary of my tinkering. I know I am. I just want to get down to getting you great content everyday. But I also want this site to have some pop and sizzle and some fun branding. The start of the branding can’t take place until I settle on the title header at the top (the thing with the football field). So again I need some feedback. Do you like it, do you not like it and if so, why. it’d be a big help. Thanks.
Drew

Mile High Sports Magazine
I recently started this great partnership with Mile High Sports Magazine. I have a cartoon in this months issue now on the stands and another cartoon coming up in October. I’m scheduled to do one full page cartoon a month for them at least until the end of the year. I thought I’d put this teaser out so you could see the first one, but , trust me, it looks even better in print.
If you’re looking for a great Christmas gift idea for that special Broncos fan in your life early the new book by Jim Saccomano called Denver Broncos: The Complete Illustrated History.
