Today’s View From the Bull Pen
Idiots Among Us
The latest Bozo Award in the world of sports belongs to Sergio Garcia. The tiff between him and Tiger Woods is legendary and has escalated in recent weeks. But the recent statement by Garcia about Tiger Woods coming over to his house for dinner with fried chicken on the menu is beyond belief. It proves once again that even though golf is a cerebral game, stupid people somehow manage to find a way on the course regardless. True Idiocy reigns on the PGA tour.Like MLK, I too have a dream. That someday we will no longer see the color of a man's skin, or judge them by their sexuality, but instead, with compassion and strength, seek to live as equals in the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.
Until that day, I will rage on in cartoons like this one about the utter stupidity of some people who, unfortunately, inhabit the same planet I do.As always, your readership and your comments help to make the world go round, so please continue to add them. I will try to do a better job of responding.
There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.

After Months in the Vast Wilderness

Laker’s it is. Bring ‘em on. Give ‘em a taste of the Birdman and Billups (sounds like a sitcom doesn’t it?). Let Melo make mincemeat of ‘em I say. Just get it going already.
No matter how much you are enjoying this Nuggets run I think everyone would agree with me that it takes too long to get to this point. An 8 month season followed by 4 months of playoffs. Or so it seems.
It should be a fun one. And, really I can’t complain. It gives me something other then the Rockies to draw about. Please click on more to see the rest of the blog. -

Nuggets Kick Mavs Keester

Nuggets escort Cuban outta Dodge
Another amazing night in Colorado sports history. The Nuggets advance in the NBA playoffs to the Western Conference finals. I covered the Nuggets the last time they went this deep in the playoffs back in the 80′s. This team is better. Much better. Safe to say the guys in LA are shaking a bit.
Technical Difficulties.
We have solved the glitches with the site we experienced yesterday. Sorry we had to delete the comments from the last post. Thry are working now. I updated the about Drew link above. Check it out. Now. How about those Nuggets!!! -
Nuggets Run ‘em Ragged

It’s The Altitude
I always enjoy seeing the effects that the altitude plays on Denver opponents. I sat watching the Nuggets closing out the 3rd period of last nights playoff match-up against the Mavericks really strong. It was all over. The Nuggets played the 4th quarter to perfection, playing tenacious defense and running the basketball down the collective panting throats of the Mavs. It was brilliant and a vision of why the Nuggets are so very dangerous in the playoffs right now. When they move the ball, force it inside for easy shots it is a thing of beauty. It sets up the threes so well. The Nuggets outplayed the Mavs in the first two games. It goes back to Dallas and the going will be a bit tougher. if the Nuggets can steal one there it makes the Nuggets chances to advance very good.Caption Contest Going Strong
The Contest is going great again this week. I encourage everyone to submit their entries early and often. And do me a favor. Tell two of your friends about the website and the contest. The more entries the funnier the contest. -
Chauncey’s Cookin’ Now

Nuggets are on a Roll
And so it goes, on and on and on. The Mavericks looked positively baffled at the end of the game, and the Nuggets looking more like the cat who just wolfed the canary. It was a full day at the drawing board, working on tweaks to the website, a new cartoon for 9News, a Nuggets cartoon for drewlitton.com and a syndicated one for United Features as well. I absolutely dispel any myths about cartoonists who spend the day on the golf course. I hope you enjoy the changes we are making to make things a little more fun here on the blog. It will probably be Wednesday before you notice any changes. -
The offiicial Bird Watchers Cartoon Caption Contest

TGIF: Bird Watchers Cartoon Caption Contest
The Nuggets are hot and so are all you caption writers. Last weeks contest was our best ever. Let’s make this one as good as that 58 point Nuggets crushing of the Hornets in game 4. Here’s our rules: Keep the caption clean and keep them original. We’ll give out the prizes like last week. The Winner gets the original cartoon with their caption, a t-shirt and a Birdzilla sketch ( or an Elway if you prefer). Two runner-ups get free t-shirt and a Birdzilla or Elway sketch.A Few Tweaks coming your way.
I’ll be working with my webmaster extraordinaire, Steve Foster, this weekend to add a few bells and whistles to the site. Hopefully you’ll like the extra features even though they are nothing major. And be sure to be parked in front of your sets on Sunday afternoon as the Nuggets take on Dallas. I’ll have a cartoon up late Sunday night in time for your cup of coffee and a sports cartoon on Monday morning. It’s almost as good as sleeping in.
