So much for the “BIG” match-up of Aaron Rodgers vs. Drew Brees. The NFL is crazy that way. You can never count on anything to happen the way you think it will. That said, after seeing this weekends games I feel like no one will be able to beat the Patriots. Their tandem of tight ends is unreal. If the NFL is looking to outlaw something next year they can start with Rob Gronkowski. I’ve never seen a tight end that has the intangibles that he has. The guy should be illegal.

So the Broncos are done for this year, but there are tons of questions that need answers going forward. But there is a lot of time to deal with those. I personally just want to reminisce over the great season it has been. The NFL network had a terrific Tebow-in-review piece that played over the weekend. Great stuff if you can catch it playing again.

I want to thank everyone who offered some feedback on the site. So you can see I made yet another change here, bringing back the scrolling through cartoons from top to bottom and obviously a color change. Sometimes I just need to mix it up a bit. If you like it let me know. If not please do the same. There’s a pretty good chance I will add a permanent slider at the top of the blog so you can scroll through 10 or 12 of the most recent cartoons. But I need to play with that a bit first before I add it. Thanks again for your input.

Steve Gleason is infamous in New Orleans. Just 2 and a half minutes into The Saints first game back home in the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina, Gleason blocked a punt that the Saints recovered for a touchdown. It’s known as the single most important play in Saints history because it expressed a cities hope after the massive devastation of Katrina and it began an era of winning football for a franchise, long known as the Aint’s, a doormat team in the an NFL. Gleason was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) in January. New York Yankees slugger Lou Gehrig was its first prominent victim, dying at age 37 just two years after his 1939 diagnosis. Gleason has started a foundation to fight this hideous disease. Join me and Team Gleason to find a cure. For more information on Steve Gleason check out this terrific article by Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune and this great one by Sports Ilustrated’s Peter King

Geez. Talk about Parity. What a crazy couple for weeks the NFL Playoffs. Pass the Pepto, it's upsets stomach time. Glad I'm not a betting man because it could have been ugly. Can't believe the Patriots lost. To the Jets. To Rex Ryan. And the Falcons. So much for Matt Ryan being the second coming of Drew Brees. Oh, and speaking of Drew Brees. He's sitting at home as well. All in all it has been quite a ride. And it aint over yet. The Good News is, we have two great games next weekend. The Bad News is we have to listen to another week of Rex Ryan, Ahh but it's all great cartoon material.

We weren't sure this would get posted on ESPN.com tonight. Blizzards have made e-mail communication in Bristol almost impossible. But Thanks to ESPN's Michael Knisley and Thomas Neumann for being persiitent. Thanks to Rich Moyer and the one and only Mike Kaminski for the great team that made these happen every week. This is the last episode for now. We are hoping for a chance to do one for the Super Bowl, so stay tooned.

Tiger Returns.
Are you ready for it? Naw. me either. Be thankful you don't have tickets to the Masters. It will be about as much fun as a root canal. If you even so much as blink in Tigers direction you'll find yourself tossed out with the afternoon trash. This year the Masters isn't a golf tournament, it's a reality show.

Saints Prints
Better late than never. This is a test run. I think the price point is fairly affordable and the prints do look great. The process takes you through Paypal which should send me an e-mail after you order there.

Added Link to Prostate Cancer Foundation
I've added a link in the side bar for those of you who would like to make a donation to fight the battle against Prostate cancer. The link is in memory of singer songwriter Dan Fogelberg who lost his battle with cancer in 2007. I had the good fortune of interviewing Dan several times in the 80's and have always felt a kindred spirit creatively. There's also various information about PSA testing. Vital to guys over 45.
This link will be a permanent part of the site. I fought my own battle against testicular cancer in 2000 and felt like this was the right thing to do at the right time. So feel free to honor George Karl in his battle.

Jean Fogelberg, Dan's wife, has started an amazing website called DontLoseHeart.org. It's a site for caregiver's who must face their own challenges in the the midst of family illness. Having filled that role for others in my own life as well, it can be a lonely and stressful time for those who care for loved ones in need. I know, not sports, but highly recommended.

Jean Fogelberg, Dan’s wife, has started an amazing website called DontLoseHeart.org. It’s a site for care giver’s who must face their own challenges in the the midst of family illness. Having filled that role for others in my own life as well, it can be a lonely and stressful time for those who care for loved ones in need. I know, not sports, but highly recommended.
