I just didn't feel right about putting up a sports cartoon and doing one on Bin Laden didn't seem like the thing to do either (although I did have a concept in mind. Hint: it involved Uncle Sam stepping on a certain cockroach). I know most every political cartoonist in the country has done one. I think I'll leave that topic to them. Today we're back to normal (well, relatively speaking). As a treat someone sent me the link below of a brand new Roadrunner cartoon. If you are reading this in the office you might want to mute the sound when you play it.     What’s Wrong with This Picture?


    Thanks to everyone yesterday for understanding my decision not to post a cartoon. I just didn’t feel right about putting up a sports cartoon and doing one on Bin Laden didn’t seem like the thing to do either (although I did have a concept in mind. Hint: it involved Uncle Sam stepping on a certain cockroach). I know most every political cartoonist in the country has done one. I think I’ll leave that topic to them.

    The NFL Draft

    Normally I’m all fired up about the NFL draft, but I have to admit, this year just doesn’t feel the same. Even though the Broncos have the #2 pick overall, the NFL lockout thing has taken the thrill out of it to some degree.
    What do you think? Are you excited about the draft? Are you going to watch?

    The deadline for the caption contest is Thursday by 5.p.m mountain time. Get those entries in!

    The 24 second clock

    My favorite cartoons to do are ones like this that deal with sports in our culture and how it effects our families. These usually aren’t necessarily readers favorites. They don’t have the same emotional impact as, say, Broncos cartoons do. But they still resonate and the Syndicate likes them. Any way I hope you enjoy this one. I’m a bit pooped from all of the March Madness, Opening Day hoopla. I might sneak in a day away from the blog sometime soon. Not sure though. It depends on my workload. The first week of the month is always so busy.

    Drew’s Mock Broncos Draft

    I’ve mentioned before how much I love the NFL Draft. So I thought it would be fun to Mock draft the Broncos picks and then give you a chance to play GM with the Broncos first round pick. But first, here’s one of my favorite Draft cartoons:

    Broncos DRAFT ORDER: Let’s start with an over view of the Broncos draft order which includes the 45,000 picks that McDaniels has acquired in his recent trades.

    * 1st Round – 11th overall (from Chicago)
    * 2nd Round – 43rd overall (from Miami)
    * 2nd Round – 45th overall
    * 3rd Round – 80th overall
    * 4th Round – 114th overall
    * 5th Round – 137th overall (from Philadelphia via Cleveland)
    * 6th Round – 183rd overall

    NEEDS: With the departure of Brandon “Trade Me” Marshall. The Broncos obviously need a guy to throw to. But they have other holes to fill (not just the one in Josh McDaniels head). Here’s a quick look

    The possibility of a Ben Roethlisberger trade changing the order of the draft is in the mix. I don’t think it will happen.
