Today’s View From the Bull Pen
Wasted Time
Growing up in the late 60's and early 70's, I was a huge NBA fan. From Wilt the Stilt to Jerry West to Nate Archibald to my personal favorite, Pete Maravich, I loved the game and watched it as often as I could. Somewhere along the way, sometime after Magic and Bird, I lost that loving feeling, and, unless I just have to watch it for work purposes, I avoid The NBA at all costs.
This cartoon is as clear a comment about those feelings as I can make in less than 100 words. Inspired by the Eagles song "Wasted Time" which I recently heard while watching the History of the Eagles DVD, I think it is my definitive statement about how I really feel about the NBA. It all seems like a colossal waste of time. Don't you agree? As always, your readership and your comments help to make the world go round, so please continue to add them. I will try to do a better job of responding.
There isn't a way to leave comments in the Bull Pen so please feel free to leave your comments under the latest cartoon that I post.

Giving Tiger the Day off.

I decided we needed a day off from the whole Tiger woods fiasco and to remember what time of year it it really is. Here’s a golden oldie that still sums it up. Be sure to turn in on Friday. I’ve got a fun new cartoon just for the Holidays.

The NFL: Toll of the Game

The Game of Pain
Kyle Orton. Brian Dawkins . Ben Roethlisberger.
The list could go on and on really. The sacrifice we saw from Kyle Orton on Sunday was nothing short of amazing. And yet, I wonder, was it worth the price. Will it be all the great when 10 years from now Orton aches form the game he loves. It concerns me when I hear about both Brian Dawkins and Ben Roethlisberger will play this weekend after both suffered concussions last Sunday. Will it impact their lives 20 years from now. Oh ,sure, we can say they all make a ton of money. But is money really worth the agony the punishment brings later? -

Broncos: From Bad to Worse

Ugly
There really isn’t a more descriptive word to sum up the position the Broncos find themselves in now. Three straight losses, a backup quarterback and the Chargers on the horizon, this coming Sunday, the entire season is on the line.
Didn’t we see this coming? The Broncos were fast out of the blocks but the Ravens exposed their weaknesses and every team in the NFL now knows the way to beat them. One final thought. Isn’t it odd that this Cutler trade doesn’t seem to working out for either team? See the Cutler cartoon below and you’ll see what I mean Now let me know what you think of yesterdays debacle.
