Da Bears
The Bears coaching staff went through some serious makeover work last week in this cartoon I did for the Chicago Tribune. It’s quite a mess that Mr. Cutler has gotten himself into.
A Cartoon Posting change for a few weeks
I’m going to change my posting schedule here for just a few weeks . I’ve been posting here 5 days a week since leaving the Rocky last February. For the next few weeks I’m going to post just M-W-F. Don’t worry. This isn’t a permanent change. I just want a chance to work on a web comic I’m playing with as well as some other concepts for the coming year and to do some marketing for my creative business Littoonz Studios without the daily deadline of sports cartoons. I’m asking all of you, please, to bear with me for a few weeks, to keep supporting the site by coming back daily or every other day at least. And I ask all of you as well, to tell a friend or two about the cartoons here and encourage them to give the site a try. The more the merrier.
I’m also asking you to take part in the poll questions below to help me evaluate the site and to bring you more of the content you want to read. Thanks everybody!!
And the winner was…
You all picked Shanahan Crosses the Delaware, which, by the way was my favorite too. Here it is in living color. Thanks for voting everyone. This was fun. I think we’ll do it again sometime. And you can see the Virginian-Pilot cartoon below since it wasn’t on their site
Here’s the one from the Pilot…

And now for something completely different.
OK. Here’s the deal. I got a call from Colleen McDaniel, the sports editor at the Virginian-Pilot to do a Mike Shanahan cartoon. I used to work with Colleen at the Rocky before she moved on to greener pastures. So I did 4 roughs and Colleen picked one which I drew and colorized for this mornings paper. You can see it HERE if you want.
So it left me with three unused roughs which just seemed like a shame, sooo…I thought it would be fun to post them here and let you choose. Here are the cartoons. Below is a poll for you to pick which one I’ll ink and color for Fridays blog. So with out further ado, start picking…

Red Raiders
The mess in Lubbock is unfortunate. Mike Leach was always a guy who was accountable to no one. That’s never a good idea when you’re dealing with college athletics. There are, I’m sure, two sides to every story. I grew up during a time when coaches grabbed face masks, gave swats, kicked desks and threw chalkboard erasers at sleeping players. If you want mistreatment of college athletes read “Meat on the Hoof” sometime. That said , there just isn’t room for the kind of antics Leach employed at Tech. They are antiquated and kids today don’t respond to that kind of approach. This was good fodder for a sports cartoon.
Just a side note. Today’s cartoon was drawn completely on computer on a tablet called the Cintiq. It’s amazing what technology can do.
