Playin’ Favorites
I’m often asked what my favorite cartoon is. It’s an impossible question having drawn an average of 5 sports cartoons a week since 1982. But I can tell you my favorite kind of cartoons are one’s like this, quirky, fun, and something we as sports fans can all relate to. Of course, the part of the cartoon that got left out was the shoe that Juliet threw at Romeo as a response to his request, killing him and well, you know the rest of the story.
Have a good NO BRONCOS weekend. We’ll get through it together.

Just a note
Since I’m nationally syndicated two times a week cartoons like this work well for that. They’re known as evergreens, meaning they have a long shelf life. I sneak them in here on the blog in between my local and regional stuff. So if you’re ever reading the blog and wonder why Drew did this instead of, say an Avalanche cartoon, or a Broncos cartoon, well, now you know. I really prefer the local stuff because it gets great response from all of you. But I’ve got to do the stuff for United Features too, because, well, it helps pay the bills.

A Hoax?
OK. I know we’ve had it up to here with all of the Balloon Boy story. But I just had to get this one out of my system. Two surprise teams lead the NFL. The Saints are very much for real and the Broncos seem to be as well. A Saints- Broncos Super Bowl. Well, let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.

No More Bozos
I mean doesn’t the NFL have enough of them already. I rarely delve into politics here, after all I am supposed to be a sports cartoonist. But this issue was one I kind of had to take a swing at. Some of you will find this pretty funny while others will claim complete heresy on my part and proceed to flick their scrambled eggs at their computer screen. I beg you not to. For one reason it’s downright disgusting and really hard to get off the screen but mostly because I’ll be back Thursday with a relatively normal sports cartoon. Until then my motto for the day is RUSH is a Band! (from Canada)
