Wow! What a finish in Vancouver! The hockey game was amazing and, I’m sure, left Joe Sakic very happy. The rest of us Americans, not so much. Valiant effort by the USA regardless. And Ryan Miller was Patrick Roy Incredible! Still personally more than disappointed that RUSH didn’t play the closing ceremonies. But, hey we all had our letdowns. I know for sure I won’t miss hearing Lindsey Vonn 24 hours a day. A big Thanks to the Chicago Tribune for making it possible to do so many Olympic cartoons. I had a blast!
Site Changes. As you can see I had a busy weekend reconfiguring the site one more time. I promise it won’t be changing on you again any time soon. Thanks for the feedback everyone! I think the look is cleaner, easier to navigate and more defined as a Sports Cartoon Blog. I’ll be adding some Video content soon, in the studio stuff of me showing you how I work and some How-To-Draw-Elway tips. I think it’s going to be a blast. There will also be a Q & A category in the header for some fun inside facts. I also hope to have a BIG announcement by weeks end. Thanks to everyone for continuing to read “win, lose & Drew” cartoons. I’m committed to bringing you great cartoon content 5 Days-a-week (and sometimes more) now more than ever. Enjoy, and as always I value your comments so much!
Bode Miller came back from the edge of oblivion on Sunday to capture an elusive Gold medal, his third medal of the 2010 games. Known in the past as someone who would rather party than win, Miller has become one of the feel good stories of these Olympics. This cartoon is from the Chicago Tribune and is one of quite a few I’ve been doing for them during the games. The editor there is a joy to work with and makes these cartoons a blast for me. So if you’ve been wondering why some days the cartoons are square (Tribune), sometimes horizontal (United Features) and really horizontal other times (9News), it’s because of all the different places I’m drawing for.
Doing the Time Warp again.
What part of “live” doesn’t NBC understand? The Internet has changed so much of the way we watch sports. Mostly it does away with the need for any kind of tape delay. Too bad NBC doesn’t get it. No wonder the whole Jay Leno fiasco happened.
Thanks for taking some time to take the poll yesterday. Feel free to let me know what’s confusing about the navigation and if you want me to dump a few sidebar widgets. I’ toying with making a few tweaks to the header, so don’t be surprised if you see a new one in the near future.
Saturday and Sunday Bonus cartoons for this weekend, so be sure to check back for updates
